Hi everyone, I have not made a post on this forum earlier, though I have dealt with some of you on different occasions. Nice to see the community gathering around this very nice and informational site. Thanks Chris! Anyway, I have a question about a part I found here at home, looking through some old stuff. Its a custom made Ball differential for Sand Scorcher and alike chassis. Are these rare? I cannot see the manufacturer of this diff. but tt seems to have been imported into Norway. Please if anyone has any information on this item, let me know, are they rare, are they desireable? Posted Imagethanks, Marius

You have a very nice part there. If your selling it, I would be interested.

That is a very rare and desired item, do you have more than one?

Hi Marius, great to see you made it here [:D]
The ball diff was a popular hop up for us racers back in the 80's.
several companies made these items at the time, but as far as I know all have ceased making them a long time ago !
So, if like me, you want to build a retro racer, put it in that, it makes a world of difference, or if not sell it along to another club member who would !!

All the best

Very rare. I have never even seen a used for sale let alone a new one. I have been searching 2 years for either a ball or geared diff but have never found one. This is the 1st picture i have seen of one as well. Going green with envy as i type this [:P]

It seems this item is interesting, but I only have a wreck of a Sand Scorcher myself, and I don't usually run any of my older cars, so I will be putting this one up for sale on ebay, unless someone here makes me an offer I can't deny. These other pictures also shows other custom parts I have for the sand scorcher that are currently seeking a new home. The first one http://alrekr.d2g.bi...armonoshock.jpg is a rear mono-shock assembly part, im not sure if its meant as an upgrade to the existing mono-shock of the super champ perhaps, but it will at least upgrade a Sand Scorcher to rear mono shock like the super champ. It does not include a damper cylinder and parts, just the surrounding parts. The http://alrekr.d2g.bi...arspringset.jpg next is a rear spring set along with two spacers of some kind, I have two of this. Then there is a bronze counter gear http://alrekr.d2g.bi...rgearbronze.jpg, to replace the stock plastic one. After that, I have three packs consisting of two bronze bushings each: pic1 http://alrekr.d2g.bi...nzebushings.jpg pic2 http://alrekr.d2g.bi...zebushings2.jpg.
Then there are some rods, I am not certain where they go, but two of them seems a tad longer than the other. pic http://alrekr.d2g.biz/rods.jpg.
Make me offers please [:)], preferrably for all items, or a trade. Here is a picture of all items: http://alrekr.d2g.biz/allpacks.jpg
