I have decided to keep my Rough Rider, and I am going to repaint it in the blue and white scheme. My question is what is the correct shade of blue and is there something close to it in the current tamiya paint line?? Also if anybody has any advice on painting the RR body, or any tips could you let me know, I want to get it right the first time.
Thanks
David

Would think normal X4 blue or the spay can equivalent TS-15?, better take a catalog with you and copmare with the can tops...
Tips are patience, patience and more patience and good masking with Tamiya masking tape... I painted blue first and then in the white regions first primer and then white (easier masking)

Hi David,
I heared this from an other Dutch collector. He sprays the whole body orange or blue first (depends on your taste [
] ), and the white part is made of a white decal sheet (used for letters on windows etc.) He made a mold for it and then you cut the sheet, aply it and you're done. He said it looked stunningly beautifull, nobody will ever notice it's 'just a sticker'. Doesn't work on an SS, but the RR will be just fine because it got less curved edges. All the edges between the blue/orange and white will be as sharp as can be, you can't paint it like that he told me.
He knows what he's talking about, he has tons of these things. (11 or 12 racing buggies, and the same ammount of 3 speeds as well... [:o] )He might want to sell me one but he knows the value too well... [:(] Maybe something to keep in mind for later.... [8D] I am pretty jealous on the buy you got, really good deal there... [:o] [|)] This guy asks double for only one of the cars... [:(] Reasonable looking at the Ebay prices, but futile when looking in my wallet... [v] LOL [:D]

I can ask him to copy the sheet mold for you so I can mail it to you. I was going to mail him right now anyway about some HotShot parts he had in the back. [

I am still a bit jealous (I am getting green here! [:P] ) on that deal of yours. I can only wish I will ever get one of those cars... [:(] Well, my time will come (I hope [|)] ).
I also know someone (local) who has a new built RR. I never actually saw it but I am asking him to show it to me (and sell [}:)] ) I bet I can make a smoking deal as well. Well, then 'my time' came pretty fast! [:D] (if it's going to work that is... [v] )

Thanks,, you will get those cars eventually. Just be patient and you will probably stumble into a deal like I got. Believe me the Scorcher and RR was always at the top of my want list, but I figured I would have to settle for junk or wait a few years to save up the funds. That's why I want to make sure I get the body's right, because the rest of the cars is perfect.
