hi , while i was looking for parts for my hunter , i found a hunter that has a black chassis . i found out this is a galaxy cvhassis , so i thought i would finish the cassis of as agalaxy again . wel those parts are just about imposible to get so , i was trawling through fleabay and found a galaxy just put in under '' offers'' . it looked ok soi took a punt and grabbed it .

well . it turned up in the post with every thing except the boxes it came in i got all the paper work for the car , the old '' quick charge leads '' , a clockwork charger , beat radio and a catologe from marui with the toy shops prices written in side it .
it was all there , except the rear bumper , blast ! , which had a home made brass tubing job in its place . and grubby ! whoo was it a pig pen ! i emailed the old girl i bought it off and asked if she knew anything of its history. she said it was here sons and they got it new in 1985 from abc hobbies in dandenong , victoria . and raced on a dirt track .. i asked her if they watered in before races and she said no because it would run off due to the old engine oil they sprayed on the track to keep the dust down and so the cars could get tration her son told her !
well , sonny never cleaned it up last time he ran it in late ' 87 before he went to uni and basicly never came back home after finishing . so the oily muck has sat on it for 23 years and didnt it take some shifting , its been a complete tear down to a bunch of bits and pieces in a big dish ..but i havn't found any thing to nasty yet , except for the tyres which where affected by the oil but i have a set spare from the hunter . .

looks an interesting project :-)
I have a few spares for these and I think i have a nib front bumper, i'm sure I have a used if not new rear bumper also (might a Hunter one - are they same for the Galaxy ? colour ? )
I've no spare tyres and most of my spares are Hunter specific although I do have some new front Galaxy suspension arms..
let me know if of any interest and post some more pics up of yours when done. I've just restored my Hunter so be having a clear out of my stuff now..

i ended up buying 3 hunters to make one very nice original , and have enough good stuff left over to make a ''hybrid '' runner , galaxy suspension on a hunter chassis . the only difference is the colour and the hunter doesnt have the holes drilled for the mid rollcage mounts and the hunter front lower arms dont have the shock mount post onthem. but one hunter i got had a galaxy chassis , so i will be useing that one .
the rear bumper will be handy , the gear box covers and all that was the same colour on both models .. the front bars are a different shape .
i am in the process og buying a galaxy with the red plastics . it was a hotted up version of the galaxy rs . basicly the same except for the motor and msc i believe .
any un wanted parts will come in handy .. :(

Whilst u got all the assemblies spread out snap some pics will ya?

Have accumulated piles of used plastics over the yrs,
suspect some are Marui/AYK/Nikko etc but no idea.
If they look like yours then they might find new home.

i am looking at getting a galaxy next , its has the red frame work , silver rims and a marui 360 rs motor as opposed to the galaxy rs which has a mabuchi 540rs motor ..

The galaxy had the red plastic parts and was the first one.Later Marui made it blue frame and added a faster motor Galaxy RS. I have serveal Hunters 5 to be exact and 3 Galaxy rs. Parts are all interchable.

the marui galaxy rs had a rs540 silver can mabuchi motor and blue plastics and the marui galaxy had a marui rs360 motor which was a '' modified '' motor and red plastics .. the tan hunter chassis needs 2 holes to be drilled in it before it can be used as a galaxy chassis , but it will be the wrong colour and the front lower arms dont have the shock mount posts ..

Both chassis are the same except for the colour. What 2 holes are you refering to that need to be drilled. <_< The rs 360 motor is slower than the rs 540.

the gray/tan chassis doent have the holes for the roll cage mounts that go behind the front wheels .. and the front lower arms are different too as they dont have the shock mounts .
i'm in the process of building a hunter/galaxy runner , useing the spare galaxy chassis and suspension ? ( gotta be better than the hunters dodgey set up ! ) and mounting the hunter body useing body posts on the rear cause i dont have a white hunter rollbar and useing the 2.2 wheels of a tamiya trf201 buggy , the hunter that came with a galaxy chassis had a rather neat home made brass tubing rear bar that will go on too .

The chassis's are exactly the same.!The 2 holes for the roll cage are on all my hunter chassis's. Rite behind the servo mount holes????? The lower front arm are not part of the chassis. Some kits had the updated armes from the galaxy. The galaxy isn't any better driving. The suspension is less than the hunter. The hunter suspension is better. Adding 2.2 wheel will dog down the motor and can cause the gears to strip out. The real problem with all marui's were the stock speed controls.

ARTC ! here is a picture of the hunter chassis at the top , and the galaxy chassis below .. do you see any holes for the cage mount to bolt to near the servo mount holes ???? NO ! and i was taking about the differences in the front lower arms .. can you see a mounting post on the arms in the top pic ! AGAIN NO ! you where going off about the chassis ! now having seen photographic proof .. SO are the chassis the same , even the colour is different , never mind the holes and lower mounts , as i stated .. so . please butt out and go troll some one else thread !
as for the gearing '' dogging '' down . it wont bog down if you gear it right as the motor mount allows a heap of different pinions to be fitted as its slotted .. now again .. go away and annoy some one else !!!! :D

YES it does. It is the standared chassis that came with the kit. Just like the other one. Your chassis must have been a earlier version before changes were made. SO live with it. If you can't handle it take your tread somewhere else. Marui made the changes and that's the truth To cut down on parts invantory. Just like all the other models they made. Both chassis's will work for both kits. And one more thing, take your rude comments somewhere else. Tamiya.com dosen't tollerate swearing and name calling !!!!!

Alright. Enough with the urination contest. Clearly you are both Mauri enthusiasts with tons of passion. Share your knowledge, don't act like children.
