Was having a chat with a fellow TC member the other day about the 1:1 Willy, the collector responsible for it and his fabled collection.  He sent me this link to an article in Spiegel about him.

http://www.spiegel.d...,541223,00.html

A great article, a nice read even with the limited capabilities of Google translate! :D

But I was looking through the photos they had accompanying the article and saw this!

Please does anybody know what it is?  Apart from pure RC Pornography!

Cheers,

Cristian..

Looks like custom build by someone. there few famous guy out there. Most famous one is the guy who build miniture scale doen of real 1:1 Ferrari every detail is hand made even the working engine is exact replica of the real 1:1 egine. I hink there's you tube video of him starting the engine up for the first time with his miniture ignition key.

Talk about good timing, Abarth1 and Kokuzu just loaded one of these to each of their showrooms on the same day! What are the odds.

It appears it is a Dynamic Models suspension car, distributed by Robbe. I still think RC Pornography is a better name! C..

Good little photography tip there... Low backlight. Try it.

I've just been trying to get my head around Kokuzu's explanation of the transmission... quite ingenious, and amazing to see the detail that went into that early design.

The "brake" Kokuzu mentions is really a friction clutch though (this is what was confusing me), but by linking it to the servo you get a different kind of control over the biting point.
