I saw this receiver on Tower, model # R204GF-E. It's as cheap as the other receivers actually cheaper being 4 channel, I wonder how good it works. The specs say it has a slightly reduced distance.

Anyone know anything first hand?

Micro receivers are generally for micro models which are small and you can't see the model at any great distance anyway. The limited 230ft range wouldn't be an issue when used for the intended application.

I wouldn't be fitting one to my 1:10 (or bigger) brushless monsters (I use the R603FS for that), but I'd consider it in a crawler which you're never far away from or any of my micros (1:16 to 1:35). My HPI RS4 micro needs to be updated from AM to 2.4Ghz so I'll be looking at this receiver when I do.

I have been using the Futaba R2106gf with great success in my crawlers and scalers with my 4PL. It has an aerial thats about 25mm, and I have had no issues with any of them. This new RX seems like an update to the 2106.
