... everyone just has to stay vigilante.

I think you meant "vigilant" ... but I'll dig out a balaclava & a big stick just in case :D :L ;)

I know the site was hacked but the changes that have been made seem to have messed lots of things up. Why is it I can no longer add items to my personal favourites or if i remove an item, i can't then change it back again? It is a minor thing perhaps but i pay a subscription and therefore expect a service that works.

Send me more info about you problems and I'll take a look. On the main site I've done nothing intentionally that should remove functionality or slow things down noticeably.

Cheers
Chris

Can you email a link to the item you are editing and also let me know what bit of it you are trying to change to what.

Cheers
Chris

The issue seems to have remedied itself??? I think my painfully slow internet connection could have been the cause but thanks for the prompt response nonetheless Chris, greatly appreciated

Hi Chris, still having a few probs

- Have to re-log every time I come back on TC main. Forum is ok for a few hours then same thing.
- Can't see the recent comments I made to others in my showroom.

Any idea?

Cheers

I think the link for the first page of comments is missing or not working correctly. Older comments appear as though they are heading 'page 2' of the comment stream.

I still randomly lose all of the forum editing features when I am logged on to the main site.

The forum search feature is still hilariously inadequate for hosting a hobby that is FILLED with three letter acronyms.

I'll stop here.

I must have missed the issue with the comments - think you should find that fixed now.

Search - the forum is set up to allow 3 character searches but upon investigation there is a setting in the actual database configuration that overrides it and sets the minimum to 4. I'll take a look at what the implications are if I change it.

Forum Editing - I'm afraid I'm a bit stuck on. We thought we had a solution (Me and IPB) but it turns out its doesn't fix it for everyone and even then it doesn't seem to work 100% of the time. The only surefire I've discovered so far is if I prevent the main site for auto logging users in then the forum can do it ok. Thats probably going to annoy as many people as it pleases. Sorry this is not just plug and play stuff, this is getting two bits of software to play nicely together, while at the same time keeping everything as secure as I can possibly make it. Again if security was not an issue and no one ever tried to hack the site then it wouldn't be a problem, its a relatively easy fix. I'll continue to work on it and take advice on what the options are and let you know next time I've got something for everyone to try.

thanks for everyones patience

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris,
Since TCPhotos went down, I've lost a lot of pics out of a couple of the build threads I had going on the BRASA forum. Is there any way I can store pics in the Tamiyaclub showroom without them popping up on the main page, so I can stash the build photos in there and edit the threads to point to those pics instead.

Cheers,
MadInventor.

I'm afraid i don't now what BRASA is but if its RC related there is no hard putting them in your showroom at all. If its something completely different then I'm afraid not. If you need any of the pictures I can provide direct links to them if that helps (or package them up and make them available to you)

That said I'm hoping that TCPhotos may be back by Monday, fingers crossed.

I'm not totally sure it's a final 'on' yet, so keep copies of your pics for the time being
Will try and confirm later today...

OK TCPhotos is properly up and running again, with one change - maximum pic size has been increased to 1024 pixels wide B)
Old photos will remain at 800 wide, only new uploads will be 1024

PM replied to :)

For anyone else having mainsite access problems, the forum and mainsite run totally independent of each other as far as passwords go.
To reset your mainsite password, go to this page; http://www.tamiyaclub.com/password.asp
You'll then go through a reset process.

Resetting or changing the password on the forums does nothing to the mainsite, and vice versa.

To log on to the mainsite, use your email address and password, for the forums use username and password.

Hi all,

today I found out that someone hacked my TC account during the hacking attack on this site and contacted other TC members with my account but with a foreign email address to insult them in an inexcusable style.
I guess it was in Feb or March.

I want to apologize to all of you.

Best regards
Martin (3-speed)
