This one deserves a reference thread of it's own so here we go....

Initial suppositions? Well, it's probably just the re-release FAV moulded in black & red. :(

One quite noticeable difference will be the probable absence of the BF Goodrich decal on the front of the roof. Can't really think of any other notable cosmetic differences that might occur apart from decals. No Sand Blaster Jr type issues to worry about as the rear tyres are Hotshot blockies and the fronts had sidewalls that were Super Gripper logo'd.

I think for the 1st time ever we can safely assume that this won't be a tribute & will be a genuine re-release. ;)

The only mechanical differences fom the original I can think of will be the dogbone driveshafts replacing the hexes.

That has made my day.

Shame it isn't Wild One 2012 to at least confirm it will be this year.

Lol, don't worry, it will be this year, probably July or August.

The initial Bruiser info had no mention of 2012 on the end of it either. :(

Hm, the Wild One uses the same wheels (white instead of gold plated) & tires as The Fox, right?

Maybe not! The recent Ford F-150 (TA-02T) truck has BF Goodrich decals so Tamiya still has license :(

Gold wheels as Bonus Parts would be quite cool.

As a complete aside, I bought a Vajra and it took me ages to realise the "Bonus Parts" was a decal sheet? Thought that was a bit naff really.

Oooooooohhhh. I can hardly wait for this one!! (Especially since i have the Wild One SIG, lol ;) )
I also wonder would could be "bonus parts" in an already near perfect kit. ;) But yes, a set of gold plated rims would be nice, well, for those needing them for a Fox that is, because I think they will look a bit "off" on a boxart WO. :D

Other than that, I guess it will come with Frog dogbone-shafts, perhaps ball bearings (might also be the bonus items?), and the TEU 104 ESC. :( Oh, and with a bit of luck, a GT Tuned motor too, ;)
Well, perhaps my old Wild One finally will get retired soon then. ;)
GO FOR IT!!!

My guess is that Tamiya will talk about "improved dampers" and other small technical changes, including the dog-bone shafts, with a standard silver-can motor; but it will be one of the re-releases that is very faithful to the original (i.e.: SRBs).

And just as I was thinking about a Fast Attack Vehicle...

No doubt it will have the same modified side pod as the FAV to accomodate the battery wiring.

I just hope the front shocks aren't the ones from the FAV HP suspension kit. Not impressed with those.

Can we expect to see a raft of vintage Wild Ones being listed here and on eBay, as owners look to cash in before prices fall? I would expect so and certainley there does seem to have been a few more Bruisers of late.

and what about the price? The FAV retailed in the UK for about £135 when it was released. I would expect the WO to be slightly more, since it's more desirable and especially if it's got the HP suspension kit which is surley a dead-cert. I reckon about £165...

My FAV cost me £115 from Hong Kong. Even with the uprated dampers I don't expect the Wild One to cost any more than £130 from the likes of Stella.

This is certainly the best news I've heard about Tamiya in a long time. I would expect the dampers to be the same as the originals, although I do plan to try out those aluminum jobbers they released for the FAV. Also, I have universal drive shafts for my Wild One which I believe were originally for the Frog, but fit the Wild One just fine. That is a worth while investment. I really hope they put this out this summer as I need a new project and I have recently decided not to build the DB02 I just bought.

Must... Resist... Buying... One...

But it's a good thing for us Fox owners that we can get the front tires easily again.

I've been looking at vintage Wildones this last month on Ebay, and either missed out on price or the seller doesn't sell o'seas ... so this is GREAT news

Only new to Tamiya RC's, so this don't have the quite the same nostalgia element as for many here, but The Wildone is a sweet looking ride so I'll have to get at least 2 of these. ;)
