I have mounted this between the seats, but it makes a horrid noise that I have to have the volume up loads on the MFU so now I have disconnected it. Are these normally noisy? I have it on the minimum setting as well.

I have the old MFU without the vibrator in my King so I can only say is to isolate where noise is actually coming from. Could it be the motor or something not properly secured. If you bought it from your LHS, you may check with them else seat tight and someone will give you the answer to where the problem could be.

Is the unit touching one of the seats, or other parts that are amplifying the vibration ?

How do you have it mounted - servo tape, velcro or clamped down ?
History for last 30 months.. bought too many, not sold enough - current stable 46 EEK

I've had this same issue with my Knight hauler.

Most likely it's not the vibration unit that is noisy, it's something else on the truck that is vibrating against something else.
I located 2 spots on my Knight hauler that were vibrating badly and making a lot of noise. I silenced them with foam tape.
Problem solved.

Try running your truck in demo mode (Where it doesn't move, but you can rev the motor sound and vibration unit), maybe even take the shell off, and try and locate the source of the vibrations...

Mine is smooth and rattle free now! Go for it!
Cheers,

Im having same issues with my King Hauler, lots of noise and most of the issues seems to be the 5th wheel (the King Hauler doesnt have a spring supporting it, so I fitted one and it helps). I would do what Tamiya1/10 suggests and run it in demo mode to locate the noise.

Thanks will give it a go, the unit is screwed in but everything is in different positions to the manual as I wanted to keep the interior.

The last resort is to take the interior out and place the parts where they should go and just smoke the windows so the ugly wiring will not be easily be seen. King's small cab size, I placed the speaker where the seats were to go. Scale wise will be the largest speaker ever fitted in any Vehicle, now if only B&O or Bose would make 1/10 size speakers and interior will not have to go.
