The physical process of upgrading is now complete. This was a 'step change' upgrade, ie version 2 to 3 and we had to do it to be sure of being as secure as possible in the future.

The big change in versions obviously comes with lots of new features and ways of doing things. Its going to take time to discover all the new bits and new ways of doing things.

Give it time.

Please can we use this list for both listing any 'snags' you find, ie nice features of the last version that appear to be missing (there is a chance they are still there but either switched off or moved somewhere else) Can we also use this thread to list the new features as you find them.

I'll start the ball rolling - there appears to be a iPhone app for using with the board now (search "IPB Mobile"). If you can get it working let me know as I'm failing at the first hurdle.

Cheers
Chris

Another thing I've spotted but its more anecdotal - everything seems to run a bit smoother and quicker

Hmm, gotta say one thing I already don't like is the fact that when quoting people their comments are no longer shaded and/or ringfenced off so that we can easily distinguish them. Any way of changing this? It just looks really messy with the current set up.

I noticed one of mine from earlier wasn't right but I think that was my fault?, it worked when I edited it. See if this works?

Will look into it - I've got a feeling it works for new quotes but not old ones. There is a 'rebuild' task I need to run yet which should cure it if thats the case, it takes quite a while to run.

I'll look into this when all the basic stuff has settled down.

MultiQuote is GREAT Chris. (Don't tell me it existed before or anything, and I just never knew.... :) )

Also, yes - anything that helps with iPhone (special app, Tapatalk, whatever) will be really welcome. The old board was a nightmare to use.

I'm getting used to the new forum, just need some practice, but it looks pretty nice. Should we expect some changes for the main site?

HI NetsmithUK, i unknowing deleted my profile pix, and when i try to re-upload back, i cant seem to, the system kept saying file was too big, even though i have reduced the pix to the smallest size avaible, 100x75.

i also saw that the recommend size is 200px or larger, what does that mean?

one more thing, sorry for being long winded, what are the stars under the name in the profile for?

I feel we're missing a TamiyaClub banner on the top of this forum :)

Other than that I think the biggest 'issue' would be getting used to the new layout.Edit: Oh, and I see I have a warning point... Am I the only one? PS: I see the emoticons are a little different, I hope they're mostly the same? Bad looking emoticons (or ones that don't really match what you're trying to express) can be really annoying, both as a writer and reader of posts. And I see another slight issue... I tried to edit some posts, and I seem not to be able to add an Enter/a new line between parts of my post (just like I can't in the showrooms by the way, and never have been able to).

Avatars are an area that are still being worked on - its best not touch them for now. Will let you know when they are fixed

TCUser code is a mod I made in the old forum, that I still need to get working in this one - that said I think I've worked out a better way of doing it so it may change anyway. Will keep you posted. (There is currently no downside to not having one)

Header Banner coming soon

There is an option in the bottom left of every page now "Mark Community Read" There might be another way of doing it but thats what I've been using.

I'm not getting any formatting options at the top of the reply or edit windows when I go to make a post or reply to a post. It's like there's a toolbar missing.

When you go to edit a post it's full of html codes instead of the how it was with formating code like the old forum. Is this normal?

Also notice a "warning points" in the user information under the avatar. Was this there before but we couldn't see it?
