This one looks good, and apparently the first shell to come out for it will be the 2008 Subaru WRX Impreza. And there will be a "Pro Spec" version available that will include the optional hopup items. The "XV" stands for Crossover Vehicle - in a roundabout way, I guess.

It's nice to see a new chassis, especially one engineered for a purpose like rallying. I'm wondering how the front mounted motor will affect weight bias and steering response. Other than that, it seems like a great replacement for the DF03Ra, TT01, and TB01 chassis used for rallying in the past. Will this be the same WRC Impreza 2008 shell that has been supplied in the past?

The TA03F made an awesome drift car so I can see this translating into a good rally car. It might fly like Powdered Toast Man, but that's new real rally cars anyway.

I'd imagine with the motor mounted up front the grill section of these scale cars can be made to be functional - as air cooling.

That body is awesome. Does anyone know what the wheelbase for this badboy is? I'm assuming standard touring car wheelbase?

It's a shame I'm not driving tourers/rally cars anymore. One thing's for sure though: I'm getting rid of my TB-01, and if I'd buy a touring/rally car again, this sure is on the list of potential cars to own!

Ah, it does look like the same shell, just with different paint and decals...



Still, I come back to how nice it is to have a chassis specifically engineered for rallying... I'm sure more body shells are in the works.

Excellent...I like the design, which cures many of the ills of the DF-03ra from a practical standpoint, i.e., dirt/debris filling the chassis/drivetrain, even with a Dark Impact cover. I too will curious how the front-engine placement works...the DF-03ra is a bit tail-heavy, and this certainly should not be.

With the drift oriented weight distribution, I'd assume these cars will be capable of the powersliding around corners that you see in the 1:1 rallies.

The TA03F made a great handling rally car, both onroad and offroad, IF you could keep the dirt and debris out of the belt. This new model solves that. I expect good things from this.

Highest point of the front looks to be the spur gear cover, not the damper tower.

The existing Subaru body is on a DF03RA (#58430), which is 257mm wheelbase. If it's the same body moulding with new decals, it should be the same wheelbase.

The HPI Stratos body is a 210mm wheelbase, 165mm wide, made for the HPI Cup Racer. It's way too small for a standard touring car. Carson makes (made?) a touring-car-sized Stratos shell.

Sorry but in my eyes this would have to have a escort cosworth body on it and not the Wrc one the proper one ith a mahoosive wailtail. Or a 97 shape Subaru body.

Great looking rally chassis, now all we need is tamiya to bring out some group a or b rally cars from the 80's.
