The clod rims enagage with a plastic hub adaptor which carries a splined hex nut. In theory you could replace the splined hex nut with a normal hex drive and modify the hub 'plates' to avoid clearance issues.

Given the Clod rims are twice the width of the Wild Dagger / Detonator rims and tyres are still diffiult to find I'd suggest yoy look elsewhere for big wheels if thats your thing.

History for last 32 months.. bought too many, not sold enough - current stable 41.2 EEK

Going to be difficult as there is a lot of offset on a clodbuster wheel, and the clod axles are 6mm diameter versus the 5mm wild dagger axles. Then you will get into gear ratio problems as the clod tyres are a much larger diameter than the dagger wheels. Don't think it's a good idea to be honest, the heavier wheels will also put a lot strain on the suspension / steering, etc. If you really want to press ahead with it I've got a set of wheel adapters I made that will fit a clod / jugg2 wheel onto a 5mm axle (Uses a 5mm grub screw to lock in position) I would be prepared to sell, but you will still have to find a long enough axle with a suitable drive cup on the end that will mate up with the dagger dogbone (possibly re-re frog but the drive cup might be the wrong size). PM me if you want some more details on the adapters.

It can be done, in theory. I once had Clods on a Super Blackfoot.

This is how I'd go about it.

Step α : Ball bearings everywhere.

Step 1: Replace all that you can find of the suspension in aluminium. Then shim out all slop. With the extra load, offset and weight any little flex or slop will translate into clown car wobbly wheels.

Step 2: Get a DECENT high torque servo and sevo saver. By decent servo, one that needs an external BEC to power it's that much business. Alloy servo posts too would be good.

Step 3: JX-RC had some axle extenders from Tobee Craft for the TLT at one time, that added 48mm extra to each side. You'll need those.

Step 4: High torque 550 motors. The gearing on a WD01 is 18:1, a Clod is 30:1. That is a lot of compensation to be made by the engines. With my Blackfoot, I made a 2.5:1 reduction box out of a Tomahawk gear box that I used in line. With the WD01, you don't have that much room.

Thats more work than i intended guys but many thanks for clearing it up . I think that the way i'll go is to buy some 2.2 deep dish rims - maybe HPI . Then i'll find the tallest 'monster' tyres i can . I dont want to use rims that are more crawler than monster truck and will more than likely have a go at the die method to match the body colour . I'am thinking Awesome Kong II . IF only i could find a scale v24 Alison aero engine :D
