So a quick update - i finally managed to get some clear lacquer on tonight, damp nights and other recent projects have taken me away from this rebuild. This is how the shell sits tonight...

Not exactly the red i wanted , and its even darker than it looks in the photos, but i actually like it - its a good strong contrast to the yellow !

Managed to get the decals on last night - i dare say there was a better order for them, but decal design has never been my thing :(

Even without considering where it started, the shell and decals look just fine to me.

Glass, driver and lights installed. Just waiting for the epoxy around the reinforcing washer under the front body mount to set and I'll be done onthis one !!

That looks awesome mate! I would try and get a spotlight bar for the front and some new tyres just to finish it off :)

badword yeah, that's an awesome resto - and you said it wouldn't look like new. I think it looks better than new.

Thanks guys. Quite happy with the result, not perfect but good enough for light runner.

It can't be too bad, the other half hasn't complained about it being the centrepiece in the lounge for the last week !

Well your "not perfect" rebuild result looks better than some of my new builds! lol. I've never piloted one of those but they look like a hoot.
