Now then, I know I am not daft and can work most things out but can anyone confirm which piston rods go where in the 84258 damper upgrade kit?

At first I thought it would be the longer set in the rear, but after taking a look at it. It looks like the longer set go in the front?

According to this image, the longer ones go in the front shocks. But according to the wild one instructions the longer go in the rear.

Lol, if you went by the picture, you'd be installing all four the upper seals below the rear springs :P

The smaller shock bodied ones go in the front & they look like the longer one's next to the oil .
The fatter one's go on the rear .

E-Bay name ozracer89 has changed his NAME to thenumber5 .
Just be aware of this low life .

Hi andy, long time no see, just got my paperwork out that came with my oil shocks thinking it would make the question clear, it doesn't at all, i can only assume as i cant remember when i build mine, the longer piston rods go in the longer front shocks. another problem i found and still trying to cure is the shock bottom spring cup, its the wrong size for the spring and allows the spring to move about and scrape on the shock body or shock tower. if you find a suitable replacement be sure to let us know.regards mark

I am using part G11 from the Wild One kit over the top of the spring retainer on the front. It was used on the original Wild One to set the floating piston (I didn't know this I took a peek at the manual on the main site).

wow GREAT IDEA - i think you've found teh missing link!!

just installed it... dimensions are perfect;
i snipped a cleft in each to clear the mount bracket
and the shock's bottom cap goes thru the ring = zero loss of travel :D

Hi Mark, The paperwork sucks!. I ended up using the longer rods in the front shocks, and the shorter rods in the rear shocks. I too hate the fact that the springs dont fit the cups properly. I still havent finished building my FAV, I hope to have it done for the TC meet next weekend.
