The Olympics must've had a contract with BMW! All the support cars during the cycling road race were BMWs and the mini used during the "British" opening ceremony wasn't the classic 60s English cooper but the modern BMW one. Concidering every other English stereotype cliche was in there I was supervised they got the wrong Mini!

That's what they use - and the chassis under there is an FG Sportsline (1/5th touring car) chassis converted to electric
The only thing I don't see is why they wouldn't use slightly more ground clearance and softer suspension so the Mini can retrieve the athletes' gear with 65km/h instead of a crawling pace
