super (hot)shot gold wheels... PAINTED?

anyone done any work to the new gold "Boomerang" wheels yet?
they look silver chromed + yellow clear painted on top....
not genuine golden plated like the old originals
also the paint seems to have pooled up around the 7 holes in the centre
and noticeably thinner at the little hex heads around the outer edge
- did they paint wheel facing downwards perhaps
