ID these wheels for me please.

08 May 2012 - 07:02 PM

Can anybody ID these wheels / tyres for me. No hub markings - no tyre lettering - nothing to give me a clue. Blackfoot sized, all with 12mm hex hubs. Do you recognise them? What are they off? I'm tidying and they need to go !!

Cheers Richard

We're Racing Tamiya Cars In Hinckley On Saturday Afternoons.

22 January 2011 - 10:00 PM

Hello - just wanted to let everyone who might be interested know that we race Tamiya cars at Hinckley Radio Control Car Club ( that's Hinckley Leicestershire, about half way between Leicester and Coventry ) on a Saturday afternoon. We have a class ideally suited to racing Tamiya models old and new. The class is called QUICKSILVER and any chassis is allowed but the motor is limited to standard Tamiya type sealed 540 motors as included with most kits. We had a great race meeting today. The Quicksilver class had 18 drivers giving us 3 heats worth of racers. A majority of these drivers were running Tamiyas, mainly TT-01s. It's a friendly club and we have an enjoyable afternoons racing. Refreshments such as tea, coffee, crisps, Pot Noodles and sweets are also usually available from race control.

Winter indoor racing runs until the end of March. We're racing touring car type on-road chassis inside in a school sports hall on carpet. In May we go outdoors to run buggies on grass. So if you have a Tamiya and fancy giving racing a try come and join us in Hinckley. We know you'll enjoy it! :)

We also have 2 Quicksilver club cars available for anyone who wishes to try racing but may not have a suitable car. These can be booked in advance to secure.

If you need any info let me know and I'll try my best to help.

We'd love to see you at HinckleyRCCC.

Tamiya Class Winter Indoors Series At Hinckley Rccc

26 August 2009 - 04:40 PM

Time for a new topic to launch the Winter Indoor series at Hinckley Radio Controlled Car Club.

The club will be holding Tamiya class racing heats for road cars with standard 27turn sealed "silver can" motors as part of the weekly Saturday afternoon meetings. The class will be open to Tamiya and other makes of cars with the aim of being an inclusive class allowing people to race whatever road cars they have. Silver can motors only though to keep things cheap and evenly matched. This has the potential to be a lot of fun and a great opportunity to race many older chassis you may have stashed away in the loft or gathering dust as shelf queens. 4WD or 2WD, FWD or RWD road cars can all be raced together in this new class so start thinking what cars you have you'ld love to be putting around a track again and enjoying the Retro Racing spirit indoors.

First race of the Winter season starts September 19th in the sports hall at John Cleveland Collage Hinckley.  See the clubs website for details and directions.  If you don't already know Hinckley is centrally located in the UK - just off the M69 or A5 between Coventry and Leicester. HRCCC Website.

What else have you found out there in the real world sharing the names of our favourite "toys"?
