Bruiser Shifting (RE-RE)
21 April 2013 - 05:48 PM
Built my Bruiser Re-Re last year just been tinkering with running it now.
When the wheels are off the ground and I shift from 4wd to 2wd it doesn't seem to "catch" in middle gear but does in high 2wd. Same with going back to 4wd, seems to skip over middle gear.
When running (wheels off the ground though) and shifting, it shifts, but makes a bit of a "click or clunk" but seems to shift and not stutter a bit better.
Was this designed to shift standing still or while driving and does this sound like a "transmission rebuild" ? (Which, at the moment I've no time for).
(Spektrum DX3E has radio has shifting responsibilities)

External BEC - Yes ? No ? I Dont't Know ?!
20 April 2013 - 08:47 PM
I'm not the most "electronic type" so seeking advice.
Truck: Tamiya TXT-2 Agrios
Steering Servo: HS-646WP (Waterproof/High Voltage/High Torque)
Servo Specs: Torque @ 6.0v = 157 oz-in
Torque @ 7.4v = 179 oz-in
ESC/Motor Combo: Traxxas Velineon System
Velineon System Specs: (ESC) BEC Current 6 volts
No Motor Limit
BEC Current 2.5A (with 6-cell NiMH)
Continuous Current 200A
Braking Current 320A
Peak Current Forward/Reverse 320A
(Motor) 10 Turn/3500 KV
Additionally running: Traxxas ESC Fan (Plugs right into the ESC)
Integy Motor Cooling Fan (Plugs into receiver)
Radio/ESC - To be Determined (Possibly Futaba 3PL System)
Battery: Traxxas 7.4v 5800 mah LIPO (25C) (May try a 3s Lipo for fun)
QUESTION ?
Do I need to run an "external BEC" such as those sold by Castle Creations ?
Am I to assume that the servo will get the minimum 6v from the esc as it is ? But to get the most from it do I need the BEC to get the torque up ?
I am a bit confused.
Or without the BEC will the servo be getting the standard 4.8v of power ?
Any advice would be great and appreciated. Any other External BECS recommended other than Castle's ?
Getting excited to get my AGRIOS built.

Left Handed Radios ?
18 March 2013 - 08:55 PM
Hey folks, who makes a pistol radio that can have the wheel flipped over for a left handed user ? (For a relative).
I've seen a few but am drawing a blank.
Want it to be 2.4 GHZ as well & reasonably priced.
Thanks !
