I got into RC cars back in 1987 after seeing friends driving Tamiya Boomerangs. My first car was the then newly released Tamiya Hotshot II. What a car! It is still my favorite Tamiya car. After racing it briefly my parents allowed me to upgrade to an Optima Mid, and finally to the mighty CAT XLS. Around 1993 I started to lose touch with cars and began to fly aircraft. I lost touch with the hobby completely after 1995, until nostalgic curiosity made me search Ebay in 2007. I picked up a hotshot 2 , but it wasn't until I moved to Tokyo in early 2010 that the momentum really picked up. So now I find myself fighting the urge to keep increasing my collection. I'm trying to keep it to 10, with limited success. This hobby brings me so much pleasure. I can't really explain it, but these 1/10th vintage cars vividly pull back many happy memories of my childhood and for that I'm very grateful to Tamiya
