Got my first RC car at age 11 after longing for one after seeing a friends Hornet and my cousins Hotshot. My parents bought me a Nikko Diplomat. Not quite the Tamiya that I had wanted, but with its 380 motor ,seemed plenty quick enough at the time. Three years later, I got my first Tamiya. A Blackfoot bought from a friend. Never quite ran right, had plenty of gearbox issues, but I enjoyed all the time spent tinkering with it. Fast forward 15 years and I found it up in the loft and stumbled across this site. The Blackfoot is now a restored runner, and I have an ever increasing collection of re-releases. Not everyones favourite thing I know, but a great way for me to build those models that I wanted so badly as a kid.
