description  I had some trouble with the axles on this buggy and it nearly drove me insane .It started off when I was looking at the angle of the rear arms and they looked to be odd - not symetrical .On closer inspection after stripping the rear down it turned out that someone at some time had machined the axles on both front and rear of the buggy for some reason and the rear arms had been bored out with a drill !! to take a 12mm o/d bearing and the fronts had imperial bearings in them which were shimmed to fit the front knuckles by boring out the plastic bearings so they were paper thin to take up the slack in the recess (why metric bearings weren't used is beyond me) fortunately the front knuckles were not tampered with like the rear arms . The guy I bought the buggy from also sent me some used but good rear & front arms , so after sourcing some replacement axles I rebuilt the rear with new rubber sheilded bearings ,and same on the front . I also changed the front lower arms as they were distorted across the pivot line . I have to thank Spike for helping me with the axle comparison to his axles to find out where the problem was , thanks mate.It now turns out whilst rebuilding the rear end that the dampers have had threaded 'cap'type bolts used in them instead of the proper damper shafts so it has messed up the lower brass inserts (more parts needed please help if you can) . So to cheer myself up I have lettered the tyres and I have fitted a 'bead' to the inner of the wheel rims to hold the tyre better and match the outer look of the wheels

Thanks guys . Yes Felix , I thought I was overlooking something somewhere ,and as I hadn't owned one of these before it was all a learning curve . It seems obvious now what the problem was ,but I had nothing to compare the axles to and it just seemed so bizzare that someone would do what they had done when it seems totally uneccessary .With the help of some TC members it is all coming right again ,so a big thanks to them for their help . I guess most people reading the inital requests for help made me sound like I had lost my mind with what I had written down about the axles etc @John - Get one !!

Sounds like alot of hassle Kev! I'm sure you'll get it hunky dory in the end ... BTW It appears that you took your time between shots 1 and 2 ... or did it get dark very quickly? ...
