description  Bought a cheap old Hornet a couple of years ago. Ever since then I could never run it because the chassis had splits where the rear-axle stays go, so the drive-train would eventually come out. I know this is a pretty common problem with these chassis', so I had to come up with some solution. I know replacement parts are not expensive for these buggies, but they become so if you need them to be shipped to countries like mine, far down in South America.

Anyway, what do you need to solve the problem? A piece of some aluminum junk, and two bolts with lock-nuts. Nothing more! Have a look at the pictures below. I'm sure this will give you some ideas on how to permanently fix the problem, and maybe you can make it even better yourself. Some flat-black paint on the alu bracket will make it look good, too.

Hope this will help fellow TCers here to keep those old Hornet buggies running endlessly on the neighborhoods and dirt-tracks around the world!

@BeetleOne: Thanks for the positive comment!

Vuelva a volar avispon! Vuele!!

Very cool and original thinking. It doesn't stand out as shoddy at all, I have some horrible repairs to cars, but these repairs are done very well. Keep on drivin.
