description  i ve just began this new project, a long time with the idea in mind and now it has finally began. I scaled a blueprint to match the SS wheelbase, and i work with 1mm styrene and percloretylene. My idea is an open top car, with a complete 8 points rollcage, i ve learned some technics to weld with silver, to make some resin drivers. but for now, the work is on the body. This is how it looks now, assembling, before sanding all the parts. I don't know how much time i will spend, so don't expect updates soon. The first 181 (not kubelwagen 1/9) on a SRB chassis with offroad look ?

Bigwheels Inc, the 181 was the military version, 182 was civilian. Either way, both versions need slamming! My real 181 was ex-Nato and was lowered so the chassis was about 1.5 inches off the ground. Not practical, but way too cool

the military version is not really my target...

if your going to do it flat yellow why not build a 182 (military version) only slight diffrences but would make it unique

Manuspain  07/08/2012 23:55:51
or a gurgel X12 ?

Difficult to make a schwimmwagen, it's much rounder than this one. Maybe a Iltis ?

Looks awesome, can't wait to see it finished. I would fall over if you were to try a 128/166 (schwimmwagen) after you've mastered this one!

Awesome, i have a styrene scratch-built body here i started a few years ago, took dimensions off the real 181 i owned back then. Really need to get it finished, just needs the arches making and then general finishing on the main body.
