Being on holiday at my mothers place i felt the abstinence to fix and run my Tamiya's. I posted on FB if anyone had an old Tamiya car that they would be willing to sell. I would say that I stroke gold, an local (earlier) bully wanted to sell his old Bigwig that he bought back in the eighties. all the upper and lower plastic parts where actually ok. The electronics were not good, so I have been soldering all night to get ig working again. The MSC is not the original as you can see, so I'm wondering if it will work. I got the 8.4v battery that he used back in the days, not sure if it will be working, but will try to recharge it now. Really hoping that it will work because I have so many good spots for running this old Bigwig.

An ingenious way of replacing the BigWig's MSC with the regular 3step. But may I point out your green/yellow motor and black/red battery wires are too small a gauge to use in conjunction with the Technigold and 8.4V battery as you will melt them. Trust me been there done that and will spoil your fun faster than you can say Woohhoo!

Thanks for the heads up Sunnyjai. Not sure if I'm able to do anything about that now, since my lhs is about 120km away from me :-p

Wow that's a loooong way to your nearest LHS! Got any spare 14gauge wires in your parts bin? If you be careful and limit your runs! Lol

Hehe, yeah thats the way it is when you come from a place up north in Norway far away from a city. Were i live now it's not that far from my lhs, and thats good. Looks like i want be running this one this vacation, since I'm not able to get hold of a 'new' servo since the steering servo is broken

3 step msc will be fine but 8.4 battery will melt wires

Don't have any other battery to use, so we'll see what happens... Finally got hold of a 'new' servo from a friend of me. Will try to run the car tomorrow.

This one were supposed to be my holiday runner, but being such a long way to my nearest lhs, i have to let the dream of running this one in my holiday, go. It will stay on my shelf until next time i visit my mother, and then i will come prepered with new electronics and some new plastic parts. Until next time Bigwig, until next time.
