THE HOLY GRAIL! SEALED NIB BLACKFOOT!
Guys, guys, guys! I know I've been pretty quiet here for a while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been snatching up deals and lining up some solid new additions to the collection. Au contraire, mon capitan...
A couple of biggies (for me) are getting a super-kind offer from TCer Mincemeat to let me take guardianship of his sealed NIB Falcon kit (haven't posted it yet). And hot off the high from that, after commenting to him that what I'd really like to score is a sealed Blackfoot but had NEVER seen one... he tells me there's one on ebay right that second.
Well - I knew I had to have it. I also knew I would have to let go of a few things to afford it -including my previous nicest NIB Blackfoot ever. But I did it and now I have one that looks like it came off the shelf of my dad's hobby shop in the 80's. Goal achieved!
PS- I didn't want the Blackfoot to be lonely so I had it pose with the sealed Falcon and a sealed NIB QD Monster Beetle I also have not yet posted. Will do at some point!

GORGEOUS KITS!!!!!!! ESPECIALLY THAT BLACKFOOT!!
It would be great to open a hobby shop Ben but as well as new modern stuff have a NOS vintage Tamiya section!! or just make that vintage section like a golden era museum??? Do you have the room or cash??

Very nice Blackfoot, Seeing one boxed brings back many memories from the 80s.

haha MAD-B if i ever got to be rich and famous... or just really rich i think it would be a blast to create a full-on time capsule circa 1987 hobby shop even if nothing was really for sale. just to be able to walk in and browse around. some people do that with old gas stations or garages.

Great score. Love the look of the first Blackfoot, and always had a sweet spot for the Falcon.

Way to go Ben, nice scores and quick photos. If I might suggest you dig out that 9v battery from the QD kit before long or it might ruin the box like that Manta Ray QD I got off you a year or more ago. I still can't get over how big that QD box is.

THANKS EVERYBODY! Yeah this kit is really special to me, same with the Falcon. For anyone that doesn't know why I've changed the link on the bottom of the page to another gallery that should make it all clear. Losing my dad a few years ago was what got me back into this hobby after forgetting all about it for years. Collecting these things, and getting to know this great group of like-minded folks and making some great friends has been really special - something meaningful to me to fill that void left by my dad and also so much of the estrangement I had felt from my own childhood. Never thought I'd be the 'collector' type. Obviously, I knew less than I thought...
