Here is my very first Tamiya kit,the Pilot Escort,it's in terrible shape body wise due to the fact that the friendly 'racing' it was involved in very often degenerated to destruction derby type antics. One such episode even saw the introduction of a flaming battering ram on one of my friends cars heheh.I had to renew the chassis many years ago as it snapped at the front and a few steering parts have been renewed.I feel I owe this car so a good quality restoration is on the cards (thanks in kind to another member who supplied me with a mint body & wheels). It's not my favourite cossie (that's the tiger stripe) but I think I bought it originally because of the unusual paintwork.Once fully refurbed it will be retired in pride of place for the many hours of fun it gave me.

Such character these cars develop when they get beat up, I absolutely love it. Looking forward to your restoring it as well.

Looks more like Colin McRae (RIP, legend) has been driving this, not Malcolm Wilson.

Reminds me of the state of my Colin McRae Subaru TA03F I bought built from Hamleys show cabinet. Ended up head on at full speed with my younger brothers TL-01 Escort WRC. Not a pretty site : (

Not quite 1 careful owner from new, but a great little story behind it. It will be like Triggers broom as it had a new chassis and now it's getting a new body and wheels!
