Hello,
I belong to those who really appreciate re-releases. So Kyosho re-releasing the Scorpion was an awesome news. The improvements they did over the original are 'real' improvements, unlike other manufacturers if you see what I mean.
. I bought this Scorpion 2014 with the intention of building a cool runner, and it also refueled my desire to restore some other original Scorpion/Tomahawk.
Back in 2006, when I got back into the hobby, I bought several used chassis and NIP parts. At that time, I only restored a single Tomahawk chassis, but I kept searching for rare parts (wheels, tires...) until 2008 I believe, when I stashed all those precious treasures with the thought that one day I'll dig them up and start restoring again.
What you see below is most of the cool vintage items I'm going to work on in the coming months. There is of course the Scorpion re-release, but you can also spot lots of wheels, tires, NIP parts, original Tomahawk shell etc...With all these parts, I should be able to build 5 cars (including the Scorpion 2014 and the Tomahawk already assembled). It's going to be a cool vintage winter!

Enjoy!

Sounds like you will have a winter that will take you back in time, I am a bit jelous. I think I will pull out my old Atari game joystick that plugs into the TV via RCA cables and play with that to take me back to the 80's, only problem is I will become bored days before you become bored building these great looking cars. I could always try building more HotShots, but the parts I have here only will get me two cars, if I am lucky.
