I saved for this for ages.it was 1980.it was £112.50 with all radio gear acoms which I still have too. I had been sat looking at the sand scorcher in the catalogues as it was then every day for ages until I had saved enough for it.i went to the shops with my dad and when I saw the rough rider I changed my mind and got this.i then sat while my dad had all the fun of building it and watch him. he originally painted it electric blue all over.never fitted the decals.it was great.the battery never lasted more than twenty minutes though and then you had to wait until the next day to go again but it was fun.i don't know what happened to the decals and have since lost the hump battery sadly. still have the original box too.will add pics of this later. happy days

Nice story and memories - My first car was a Sand scorcher (in my showroom but heavily hopped up!) - my brother got a RR and snapped of the spotlights within minutes on Christmas morning. your cars look spot on and its nice to have such warm memories - Happy Days - Enjoy
