Got this one from the bay, along with a bunch of other parts I going to use for more Top Force'ish projects.
I marked this one as a manta ray since the chassistub says so. Talking about the chassistub I noticed that this one is grey, not black as all the others I have come across, why is that?

I'm gonna thear this car apart and rebuild it like my two previous Top Force'ish cars.

Interesting hybrid there. I used to know about the grey tub, but have forgotten what it means exactly, perhaps some more R&D will turn that answer up. It looks like it has a few upgrades to it already, nice buy.

TA01 chassis is grey. TA01 gearboxes are red. At the end this is a TA01 with Manta Ray arms.

Thanks guy's
I do think it's a mondeo shell indeed.
Yeah, guess there some upgrades on it but haven't looked to closely yet
Question kontemax, are you saying that the bathtub it self are not for a manta ray, even if it say's so inside of it? Is this how Tamiya did it, when making these, they made one mold with for the manta ray, and used this one on all other cars that used this kind of bathtub chassis?

The tub was used on the Manta Ray first ,then they were used on other TA01 chassis , like Escorts etc and still had 'Manta Ray' stamped in them . The Mondeo body is not a Tamiya one - possibly Parma?

I c.... That makes sense...
Not sure, but as you say it's not Tamiya.

TA01 and Manta Ray have identical chassis, same mold. The TA01 chassis is gray, Manta chassis is black. I believe that your car is a modified TA01, gray chassis, red gearboxes, short dampers, lower TA01 shock towers... probably this guy added the larger Manta Ray arms to a TA01 chassis to obtain the correct width for this large body. Imho.

Yeah, that makes sense. Thanks for lecturing me

I believe the grey chassis was light weight compared to the black tub chassis. Can't remember where I see this info tho so may be wrong.
