I've mentioned a few time that the King Cab was my first Tamiya and thus is special to me. I'm lucky enough to own a NIB KC and recently I bought a cheap runner off eBay which turned out to be in far better condition than I thought. Alongside these I had been collecting the parts to build another one.

While browsing eBay US I found this. It stated shipping to the US only but I messaged the seller and he was happy to send to the UK

The chassis had been about 80% assembled but the body is untouched, just how I like it! Everything is present and correct, inluding a nice selection of Tamiya and MRC catalogues. The shock and press parts bags are still sealed, as are a couple of the blisters.

One thing I don't remember when I built my first in 1990 was the pre cut arches. Did they all have these or was it something Tamiya only started to do later?

Box not great but it will be built so no problem Everything present and correct Shock bags still unopened Chassis dusty but mint Some blisters still intact Nice selection of manuals and catalogues The money shot, this is what commands the dollars! Lovely spiky tyres Don't remember pre cut arches in 1990?

If you liked those pictures, you should see these...
Still sealed! Perfection.

Not seen those precut wheel arches . I've got a nib body kit here and no precuts . I would think someone has started to cut it out

That make sense Kev, fortunately they've done a very good job, it looks factory!

I love King Cabs and your feeding my obsession with your fabulous collecting. I had NIB body set as well and I would have sworn the arches were precut [Click here]

Just checked the body set , and the arches are pre-cut - so hands up on that one , I have an idea that the TR15T shell might be pre-cut too , I'll check it . I guess Mr T. like to give a helping hand on these shells

Don't remember about the arches, can't get to my NIP bodyset to confirm it. Nice looking package you got there, I have a few bits laying around here still and I am all done building my pair, so they are up for grabs folks.

Great score, love the look of the Kingcab. I have never seen a car from the 90's with precut arches. My first experience with this is my current build (XV01 Delta), and when I saw it I wondered why Tamiya didn't do that earlier. Seems like they did

Hi, the King Cab was my first Tamiya too, and it had also the precut wheel arches. Back in 1990 I was very happy about that. I have also a clear body for spare with precut wheel arches. This is the only Tamiya lexan body with that feature that I know. Regards Peter P.S.: ENVY ! ! !

Thanks guys! I vaguely remember cutting out the body in 1990 with my mum's kitchen scissors but I have no recollection of doing the arches. I've just looked at the only photo I have of my old truck and I can see the cut lines of the arches are exactly the same as this body here. Mystery solved! I have some photos here of a Hi-Lux Monster Racer body set and that has pre cut arches. My Rock Socker which uses the old Stadium Blitzer body has them too. Not sure if the 1992 SB did.

Great find. Was my first kit I built and only lasted a few weeks after my younger brothers got hold of it : (

I built up an original NIB one around 2006 for a friend and the arches just had the normal cut line marked on it.
