A short, wide blank canvas

I think it was pretty smart of Tamiya to release this in a plain white street guise - doing so will surely encourage some creativity with paint and decals rather than hundreds more Taisans if they had brought it back with that livery.


I waited patiently for this until Seidel had it in stock and added it to my usual monthly order. Less than £100 is amazing considering how much the originals were going for not so long ago.


I bought two more bodies from Tamico - the older 49387 set, which come without stickers. They do include the wing and mirrors etc, albeit in black rather than white. I have some Jägermeister stickers left over from an M3 and the Vaillant Kremer ones from the 49400 934. I also got some of the new 84399 stickers for the body specific bits - window trims, badges etc.


I'm not keen on the toy like headlight stickers so I got a set of the 911 GT3 light buckets / reflectors, and I'll fit a cockpit interior set rather than smoking the windows.
