Full Carbon Dyna Storm
This is my racing Dyna with many hop-up's
Spec :
Tamiya : 6mm balls, New Style hi-cap dampers, and astute/avante chassis posts
Fibre-lyte : Chassis, top deck, shock towers and rear brace
Matt : (my mate) lexan under tray, white wishbones, gearbox metal plate detailing and plastic bushings for all wishbones to replace the bronze ones.
Custom RC Parts : Front bulkhead, rear suspension holders, rear guard mount and rear tower brace.
After racing this car at the tamiyaclub outdoor meet and snapping front and rear hubs I bought some TR15T front Hard grey hubs and tried a few rear hubs as these are a weak point on this car. The TRF501X rear hubs fitted with a little dremeling of the lower wishbone and are loads stronger that standard ones (plus I have spares) Now running the 3800 30C Orion Li-Po in it I will not have the weight problem anymore I hope.
2021/2 Update :
With Custom RC Parts making Dyna parts I got a few for this old dog and my blaster.
Blue front bulkhead ( with brass weights), rear suspension hangers, gearbox top brace
New VQS damper set to replace the old ones.
Same TR15-T uprights, steering, gearbox.
New black 6mm adjusters and balls
Titanium turnbuckles.
Now with new body and wing from TBG.
Now running a 10.5 Xcelorin Motor, HK X-Car 120 speedo Sanwa Gemini X transmitter Receiver, Savox servo and Shorty LiPo.

They aren'y the best to run but they are a worthy addition to a showroom. Nice alternative.

L O N G time since I saw that chassis last time ! Back in the 90's before Tamiya decided to get their TRF-Team into the serious touring-car racing scene, they had a buggy-team competing at national, european and world championships with their Astute and DynaStorm in 2wd and in 4wd with the TopForce and a prototype beltdriven 4wd car. A friend, and former team-mate of mine, called Johnny Pedersen, was a Danish TRF-driver back then, and he actually designed that chassis and had it made at fibre-lyte. Fun to see they still excist ! Tamiya also produced a limited number of modified Dynastorms for their team-drivers, and they had a lot of modifications, whith the most noticable I can remember was much shorter suspension-arms which made the car much faster on smooth-not-so-bumpy tracks. My friend still has his car....think I will try an pursuade him into posting some pictures here if people are intrested

From where did you get those white nylon inserts for the suspension arms and the uprights? I'd very much like to get me a few of those!!

I had the white nylon arms and bushings made for me buy a dyna friend so you can't buy them so buy a 201 instead

I reduced weight on my Dyna dremelling the multi disc clutch bell. I think that loosing weight on the rotating masses is better for faster accelerations.
