Finally finished my Lunchbox Project!
Its taken a while but its all finished now, after much fiddling and tinkering!
It sports ex-NIB 1987 bodyset as i wanted to start the paint from fresh.
Its painted Tamiya Mica Red and had around 6 coats to get a nice, glossy finish.
The decals are made by Parma, i picked them up for £3.99 from TMC, Nottingham.
Thanks to BratAttacks for suggesting chrome wheels.
I decided on Jato Chromes from Traxxas, with Victory tyres preglued. (£40.00 the set from my LHS)
They fitted very easily as i had some wheels adaptors in my spares box and converted the rear to take hex wheels.I removed the front bumper as it made the whole van longer than i wanted.
I have std Tamiya radio gear (with esc).
I then preloaded the front shocks with some rubber tubing so she 'sits' right.
The rear shocks were swapped for the std touring type.
The whole van is also ballraced.
I then finished the look with red wheels nuts, bodyclips and aerial pipe.
It still wheelies but will have to make do with the lounge carpet at the moment.
(I only ventured outside to take the pics!)
Hope everybody enjoys the photos.
Comments are more than welcome.
Cheers

Looking good my man, only trouble is its too bloody good to run now. Get some paddles on the back as i think sands the safest terrain for a nice mint body like that. Wonder what that would go like if it was brushless???
modelmaniac
Sand? maybe, but Brushless?? dont go giving me ideas like that?!! Cheers

Hi,
NICE.Great variation on the VLB theme.I love the wheel/tyre choice, gives it a much less bulkier feel.LOL;It may even stay upright, instead of falling on its roof all the time!!NICE van. Geoff gad32
