description  Driving with my son I was looking for the perfect basher for years. We tried Losi miniT, Tamiya TL-01B, wild dagger, mad fighter. But always loosing screws, breaking parts etc. Well, lots of fun ofcourse, wouldn't have missed it. But I couldn't get rid of the idea of a perfect runner. One that drives like a blast and is extremely durable. The DT-01 chassis from the mad fighter was very close.
I bought another one with lots of spare parts from TC member Monster_beetle on a local auction site and another one for my son. Was willing to build two identical perfect runners. I started with one and changed some things like thougher steering rods with servo saver etc. Bigger wheels, waterproof electrics box, oil shocks, motor with more torque, etc. Then I changed the weelbase: cut it in half and screwed it together with alu selfmade parts. I saw this lexan body on Conrad and bought two of them, for almost nothing but without decals. It was a pleasure to paint and decal with leftovers. It's silly I hate lexan cause I loved painting and decaling this sooooo much. One of the nicest RC things I've done. This yellow one came out like a shelf queen I think but with cut up wheelarches to match the big tires.

When it was finished there was ice on the rivers and I had also made spike tires. Man, that was fun! But on sand it was even better. Constantly spinning and a turning corner like a mini! Goal achieved I thougt.
But then my son made up his mind and sold his DT-01 to buy a Pumpkin... There I was with my perfect running beast against his laghauble but slow pumpkin.... No match at all... And I like to have equal weapons... So I sold the yellow perfect monster. Well, its keeping me flexibel. (the boy, not the hobby )
Well no problem after all. After the pumpkin he wanted to get an TA-02 rally car and that is what he and I have now. They may be even better then my perfect runner after all.... It's all about the fun being busy, isn't it?

Very cool! Something about a car that just keeps coming back for more with virtually no maintenance
