Rough Rider (Not of the Tamiya Kind!)
Another bootsale find (50p again!), was this little beauty! Made by LJN and called Rough Riders, they were a series of single AA battery powered cars with forward motion and 2wd or 4wd, selected via a lever on the roof. Also has front lights. If i remember right, they did a lot of these based on TV shows of the era, such as the A-Team, Knight Rider ect... I remember my brother used to have the KnightRider car, Mr T's A-Team van, Face's corvette, and a few others. Hope this brings back some memories!

I had one! I can't remember which, but I can't forget those conical wheels!

Cool, looks very similar to the Stomper cars I had as a kid

I was thinking about these just the other day! I really wanted a Rough Riders set when I was very young, came with a few cars and a track, but they sold out before Christmas and I got Lego instead Thanks for sharing, those pointy hubcaps bring back memories and I'd totally forgotten about the lever on the roof!

I remember these, I had an A team one I got at BHS. They where £7.50. I also had Stompers which where the same thing.

Very cool I had a couple of these too. A puprple corvette and my brother had Face's vette from the A-Team.
The pointy hub cabs were for doing stunts weren't they? Tip them up on one side and they ran on two wheels.
