Had the idea buzzing around for ages now, so finally took saw to plastic a few weeks back to see what could be done
The rear of the cab is actually the back end of the original body shell - you can see the rear door lines in one of the pics near the bottom
Hardest part was actually filling the lines in - I don't have a lot of patience and constantly filling, rubbing down, primering, re-filling and re-rubbing does require more than a little beer ;)
Anyway, came out pretty tidy - the black bit's supposed to be a tonneau cover - It just saved getting the edges too straight :D

Rear end's almost done, just looking for the Blizter Beetle number plate I been keeping for just such an occasion...

Body was primed with Halfords Filler Primer then painted with their Volkswagen brilliant orange and the tonneau was done satin black.
Windscreen rubber was coloured in with a Sharpie marker - ideal tool for the job
Thanks to all that contributed to the 'how should I build...' thread, came out good

Cheers all
Had a good look thru Halfords for paint, but it was either orange or a dark blue, and didn't think the cover would look so good against blue.

STUNNING, but since it is listed as the re re VLB model number I can't 'TAMIYA 101 IT' please, let me vote it in by changing it to a less than 100 kit number, if you can.
