description  The Sand Scorcher has landed....in Oz. I took a sickie today (just kidding) from work knowing that this was going to be delivered. Not too much to look at yet, as I will be leaving it in bubblewrap for a while...thanks to Stellamodels for their awesome packing and handling with this model (and all the models I have purchased from them for that matter....) I am still wiping the drool from my chin over this kit. And also a big thanks to Tamiya for re-releasing this kit....

I received my replacement rear guard today from Stellamodels free of charge. Just in case the one included in the kit is a defect one.

From what I gather the T-shirt is only available from vendors in Japan...I could be wrong. My purchase was with Stella (Hong Kong) so hence the blue bag edition. If it's anything like the Buggy Champ you should see the T Shirt available for sale separately from Japan later on down the track. Again I could be wrong.. @ Jak Rizzo.... LOL I was suprised as well direct 8 hour flight to Hong Kong from where I live, the postal service was real fast. Got it in 2 business days. I look forward to seeing your fantastic build of 58452...

Please build it and run it. Too many of these will remain in boxes...

I was under the impression this kit was coming with the T shirt similar to the buggy champ re release? I can see a few of these popping up on TC in the coming days :-D

SB_Aust  08/02/2010 17:15:51
Cheers for your comment. It's the Blue Bag version, the bags straps are hidden underneath. I'll probably dig out the French Blue and white, typical box art perhaps. Not sure when at this stage.

Is that a T shirt or a bag that is blue with yours??? Looks nice.

SB_Aust  08/02/2010 15:12:00
Thanks very much all. It sounds like the Olympics I know....I'll share the medal with Canadian TC member (bigbutt). I could get into trouble in more ways than one mentioning a name like that, but his kit was recorded 31 Jan but due to a technicality it wasn't recorded as such back then on TC as 58452..Enjoy your SS2010 kits all I look forward to seeing some great builds, and may Tamiya keep this kit in production for a long time. Oh by the way Badboy Happy 40th!

Nice. Can't wait to get mine! Just goes to show how iconic the SS is - all this furore just over the box. Whats it going to be like when you get it built

SB_Aust  08/02/2010 11:54:27
When I opened the postage box and the SS was looking up at me there was that surreal feeling of stepping back in time. Soppy I know Only a few months ago doing this to a new SS was only considered a pipe dream. I'll say it again, cheers Tamiya!

I still have my old magazines in which the first release is advertised...!

Get it opened, build it - and RUN IT !

SB_Aust  08/02/2010 09:37:44
You have to do it! I was too young (6years old at the time....not giving too much of my age away ) for the original release but now we have that chance to relive the golden age of Tamiya.
