description  With the re-release of the Buggy Champ I finally have found an economic way to subsitute the original front tires of my Kyosho Tomahawk. (Which I cannot find anywhere....). I got this idea as a side product whilst looking for alternatives to equip my Scorcher with alloys....
But let's come back to the Tomahawk front tire option:
Yes, the front tires from the Buggy Champ are a little smaller in internal diameter, but with some small mods they will fit the original Kyosho front rims:
1 Cut off both the inner lips of the tire. The lips are supposed to hold the tire on the original Tamiya front rim.
2 From foam cut a long stripe to insert into the tire. (the tire needs to be stretched quite a bit when fitted to the Kyosho rim, so the edges will stick out more than the middle section. The foam insert will make sure the middle section stays in level with the tire edges and the tire has street contact across the full width. Adjust the thinckness of the foam as you like, the thicker the 'rounder' the tire will become.
3 The Kyosho rim has no edges to avoid the tire sliding of the rim. I solved this problem using my lathe. I took off material from the alloy hop up rims leaving two edges. You can do the same with the plastic rims as well. If you do not have a lathe, just glue the tire to the rim with tire glue.
