| description | Ok I have to call it done for now, not sure if it turned out as an apocalypse buggy or just an old tired pile of crap with two weirdos behind the wheel but except for a few tiny details like clamps on roof rack and some minor weathering this is now ready to go outside for formal pictures but since these are not final pictures I'll leave it in extra info until I can get some really good outdoor and action shots with moondoggies help. Thank you so much guys for all the help and hints, as you can see I have used many of your ideas in the final build.

WOW! That is really cool Seth! It looks amazingly weathered! You nailed it!
Superb job looks better than most new builds .
Thanks guys, I added a link at bottom to the drastic changes in the last 24 hours.
Holy smoke Seth, absolutely incredible! Loving the Green door with the missing trim and hard core with the weathering/rust......love it! Gonna be boring with mine though, box art all the way haha
WEIRDOS RULE! Completely great unique build. The green door without chrome strip and alternative handle is the best scale detail I have seen in years, you outdid yourself, great result!
Astounding! Wonderful work. I've seen 1:1's less realistic than this
Can't add much that has not already been said but WOW!Looks like you have thought of everything from the rust at bottom of the doors to the holes where the missing chrome trim was supose to be. It's one of a kind I would like to make a copy of it but just don't seem to have the heart to go this deep into a project right now..
That's a stunning piece of junk!
Fantastic work; makes such a nice change from the cliche 'mint condition' boxart! Although for a car in that condition the lights seem to work pretty well
Exellent work as always, looks cool and i love this Scorcher! Great with the working lights, you have to take some great evening shots!
ouch! i just inhaled my cornflakes, incredible work dude
STUNNING CAR!!!! Love your work... like always
Looks great, how does the vw boxer sounds in this old bug???
wow thanks guys, yeah it definately has a few little touches left but like most of my models I work in stages, I finish it to a point but never totally finish it so I can revisit it later, if I don't leave things left to do I often get bored of them and this one I've left plenty to add to later i guess since I plan to have it for a long time and work on it from time to time as I like
Lovin' your work!!
Another cracker. Stunning
Really nice job there.
That looks awesome! Can't wait to see some action shots
Well Done. A realistic pile of cr@p. Some dusk shots with the lights would look great.
The more you look the more details pop-up..
Wow, that is cool Seth, two small bits, the screws seem too nice holding the jack on, maybe a little rust?? The Fuel rag is so cool, but it looks a bit brand new, needs some tattiness to it and at least one oil stain.
Seth, you've captured the very essence of the baja bug. The missing door trim, bungee cord door latch, and rag in the fuel filler are so classic!! Absolutely cool!
fantastic job on the weathering, the passenger side is awesome..
wow.so much detail.it will take a few days for me to take it all in,lol
*pulls out camera* Now it's time for some action shots! Bah hah hah hah...
I'd enjoy driving that pile anywhere. ' Crazy Horns ' should be driving though!!lol.. Great work!!
I lost some details at the first look, bravo!!! again. I love the holes of the door trim.
Brilliant! wow amazing weathering you made Seth, directly to my favourites for future reference.
Looks ace, fantastic work Wyoming! Just one suggestion though, the front bumper/underguard looks a bit too shiny compared to the rest of it, maybe it needs a dollop of mud
WOW!....very very cool. Its awesome from every angle.
No doubt like many here have been waiting to se this one....... Up against this level of modelling prowess, skill, detail and creativity who am I to comment bar to say this is pretty much exactly what a hardlived 30year+ Bug would look like now. I think it works better like this than out and out Apocalypse style. Stupendous work as ever, hope it wins.
It's a great pile though! Good to see you working on a proper car!
Added to my faves! Simply stunning!
The license plates are too shiny, other then that it looks perfect to me. So much details to look at - amazing!
In my oppinion there is no better way to make a model look realistic than recreating wear and tear, dirt and rust. Therefore in my eyes this is the best SS on TC so far.
Seth, you really are an inspiration to us all. Absolutely stunning work as always, and I'm glad you've turned your hand to Tamiyas finest.
Just awesome!!! Pic #2 looks so killa!!! Glad I could help =)
for a tired old bug, there has been some time spent on it... Looks sound...
WOW!speeachless
Way too cool!
All the minor details come together with this, to create one special (if battered, ha) looking Scorcher, time well spent!
Really cool work. Congratulations for this!!
I love it Seth
I don't see why you're so negative about how it turned out
That looks amazing mate .
And to think it started life as a new kit .
WOW !!!
it's not finished!!! the shocks need some rust and oil leakage
Detail is everything and this has lots of it; great work. Thanks for sharing!
That is a work of art! Love the detail on this.Just awesome!
Thank you, I don't have a modern video camera but I might look into doing some video to digital conversion
Splendid work, loving the rag in the fuelfiller neck.
:o
This buggy has had an amazing amount of detail and man hours put into it. Its a masterpiece created by an artist. I love it, and seeing your previous outdoor shots I can't wait to see him in action, any chance of a video...
This is just So Cool! Into my Faves it goes.
Thanks guys.
This is the best looking rere SS for some long time! Really an insipration for upcoming projects. Thank you.
Love the chain Locking the door! And the lights look fantastic, really great work! An inspiration.
So cool!!, Looks great as always Seth, super detail and weathered look
