Rickard Rydell's BTCC contender. A superb piece of moulding makes this kit very popular in the UK. Based on the front wheel drive FF-01 chassis the car was great to drive. One question remains unanswered however, Why didn't Tamiya make the estate?

This was the first new Tamiya i bought since the Brat (well, the Brat was bought by my parents). I got it from the local Volvo dealer actually. It came complete with a carry bag from Tamiya also. I really enjoyed building it. Turned out to be pretty fast out of the box. I raced it for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and i were faster than the other Kyoshos on the track. Guess they were running standard as well, but it felt good! The front wheel drive requires a different driving style, and the traction seems to be a problem sometimes. But it feels very stable down the straight. I ballraced the wheels only for now. With another motor i think it could be real competable with cars in the same class. The lexan body does have a problem. It´s very detailed with rearview mirrors and all, but the lower sides are somewhat bent inwards and they scrape the sides of the tyres. I dont think i have cut the wheel wells wrong if i look at the decals that´s applied. I have fixed it by having some small 'spacers' taped to the chassie at a couple of places. It looks great anyway when going round the track. When i raced it i had a lot of people asking if it was a Kyosho or what. I sad that it´s a Tamiya. -Oh. I havent seen a Tamiya in a long time they said. Well were back so watch out
. If you come across one, do get it. Think it´s going to increase in value with the Volvo body in the future.
