Being a Williams fan, I always liked the FW24 car that tamiya took out. So I finally decided to get one. Well Kind of, it started as a F201 w/bodies and slowly I have begun to build it upto a BMW Willliams FW27 for the 2005 season. After getting the car(used) I stripped it down and fully rebuilt it. I expected it to be complicated, but no, the usual Tamiya, easy and well put together. Some times I wander if we ever need the manuals to Tamiya cars. I have now added a Novak SS5800 Brushless System to my F201 and it flies. The car is still as stable as it was with the sport tuned motor. I also added the speed tuned gears that come standard on the Williams kit. And soon I will add many other hop ups too. Its a pity the F201 doesn't have its own race series anymore, I think a brushless F201 season would have been fun and cheap(long term) no motor rebuilds, no skimming the comm, no brushes to wear out, just everyone with equal power. I really wish Tamiya would update the car with some new bodies/parts. But instead it looks like they have turned there backs on the poor F201, which is a real pity as it really is a gem to drive and very fun too.
Thanks
James
