My previous cars include a TL01 (got me started), a King Blackfoot and a Blazing Star. The Touareg for me was a challenging, yet thoroughly enjoyable build. It was a whole new experience for me to build something with the super realistic rear axle and dabble with things such as 'locking the rear diff'. Personally I think the car looks great, I am a fan of all things rally anyway and watching these things blat across the sand in real life is great fun. As a mere beginner in this world I found painting the bodyshell tricky but pulled off a reasonable job. Man, enough decals - but it all adds to the overall look. I know many people use the XC/CC chassis for crawling etc. but I quite like the look of it running at speed off road. I haven't modded it in the way many TC members do - just a 21t motor and waterproof ESC (I have also bagged the RX aswell) - I do like getting it wet and muddy! In conclusion, a great kit, maybe not one for the beginner, with lots of scope for modification. The only criticism is that it can be a bit rollover happy and is a bit heavy, but ultimately a great drive once you get the knack!
