Released 16/03/1999 the Lexus GS 400 was never a popular kit outside of Japan and the USA. It was the first kit to have the GS400 bodyshell with the electric version 58251 being released later that year. This was unusual for Tamiya as the nitro kits usually follow the electric versions. Nowadays the bodies are getting hard to find and the wheels have been used on other kits like the 58228 Ford SVT Mustang Cobra R.
