  1. id=quote>id=quote>In addition to this there will be an indicator dot on the main cars page. Cheers Chris
  2. You probably all read some of the reviews entered along side a cars details on the model pages. Well the is now another tab. User Review, appeared on all the car details pages where registered members can add thier own reviews about that particular model. We don't want these filling up with very short comments though like 'great car' or 'where can i get one of these'. But we do want them filled with great information about that particular model, interesting facts, great memories, hints on building or restoring, anything that would be relevent/interesting to our visitors about that specific model. All reviews are credited to the member that entered them and eventually there will be a 'latest top 10 listing' like the other on the home page, so this is your chance to get you name up in lights and drive people into your show rooms. I look forward to seeing what you have to say about all the models. Cheers Chris ----------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING A REVIEW OF THIS CAR: - Do not post questions/trades/wanted etc type items here. - Do not post links to other parts of the web site or other websites. - Do not post short one line review like 'this is a great car' or 'i want one' This section is purely for you to write a review of what you think about this model, with relevent information that you think our readers would be interested in. If you think the car is great (or not) then back it up with some good reasons why. If it has weak spots or shares parts with other cars then write about that. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece as long as it would be helpful/interesting to someone. If in doubt ask first. Anyone that does not follow this simple rules will have their review removed and in some extreme cases their membership cancelled.
  3. Hi Calvin, Sorry I;ve said this before, but the site will not display or hold AIM, MSN, IRC or any of that type of information. Generally in this day and age of spam and general nutters on the internet its just too private. If members want to give thier details to other members thats fine. Adn members can even put these details in thier details if they wish under one of the exisiting fields - its your choice but I would advise against it. The chat service is meant as a place to come and talk if you want - the other services are more intrusive. Chris
  4. Hi I've just got a Terra Crusher, so I'll be bringing that too. At this rate I'm going to need a trailer. For those of you that can't make it, if this goes off ok we will hold the Spring Drive in another part of the country - maybe a little further south. Cheers Chris

  7. Just beta testing at the moment so let me know what you think. follow these steps. - go to home page and make sure you are looged in. - then enter this url http://www.tamiyaclub.com/betachat.asp And that should be it. Same problems still apply though - you still might not catch anyone there. I am working on an indicator which will show on every page when people are chatting - but for now you'll just have to keep checking to see or, as before, arrange to meet people there at certain times in advance. Chris
  8. buy them all then drop me an email
  9. Cool photos - thanks for being our on-the-spot reporter
  10. I can set that up no problem roby - not quite sure how it would turn out though, but its worth a shot. Can I put you down for the admin role? Could be an interesting read, could be more trouble than its worth - but I'll try anything once. Its now open and available at the bottom of the Threads list. Anything even approaching abuse of the system or in bad taste will be removed. If this happens too much the forum itself will go. Chris
  11. Its a bit trickier than that, I'm afriad. First of all I need to automate the process - there is too much to do to manually be changing the site all the time. So I have to make sure it works as streamline as possible. Main issue are: - any article can have any number of pages (ie not all the same length) - any car may have more than one article written about it. - all articles need to have source, author and contributing member linked to it some how. - all images need to be protected from web crawlers etc, and people looking to pull them all off in one go to try and make a quick buck via ebay Its going to take a while...
  12. Got the first batch of scans from BHolio and they are great! Give me a couple of days to work out the best way to integrate them with the site. Cheers Chris
  13. Hi there, The Tamiyaclub shop is going to be there - so bring your wallets
  14. If members want to pass MSN details between themselves this is fine. You can put whatever details you like in your profiles/signatures/details. As a site we will not keep or provide them. I use MSN and messenger all the time to a few friends, but even then it can still be quite intrusive sometimes, when you are trying to work. There is no way I would every publically put details like this on the web, because of abusers of the system, in just the same way we do not publish email addresses, or even list all our members anywhere. Chris
  15. id=quote>id=quote>Is this the same guy that want avatars on the forums ?
  16. I appreciate what you are all saying guys. Robys board was what got me back into the game of collecting after a long time away, and I was the first to send my thanks to him. But there is going to be no link page. There is a link to the forum, and anyone is free to put links into the links thread.
  17. Blackfoots where fetching a packet this time last year - seem to remember STulec sold his for over £100.00
  18. Check out these guys - they had a load of avante stuff last time i looked at great prices... http://www.hobbyspecialists.co.za Cheers Chris
  19. The is a prominent link on the main page of the forum, although if you missed it perhaps its not that promient?
  20. To be honest, talking over the legality of it is a bit splitting hairs, we already host manuals without permission and some of use even produce reproduction decals, which is also questionable. The fact is particularly for magazine articles from 15 years ago, I don't anyone would care at all, some of the magazines will be out of production. We will of course quote and credit all reference sources and also not use anything less than 15 years old. If its newer than we can report on it but not reproduce it. I am happy to do it first and see what happens. The risk is mine and based on experience the worse that will happen is they will ask us to remove it if they don't want us to use it. If we start trying to find original authours etc its basically going to be too much effort and will never happen. Chris
  21. I think you got lucky. The chevy logo is always going to be more collectable in the long run, just as a wild willy 1 series 1 is more collectable than a WW1 series 2. The different Cheetahs and versions of Rough Rider and SS will start to carry different prices, as eventually it won't be enough just to have a mint model any more... to be taken seriously you will need a mint first series model chris
  22. minature boxes....what a cool idea! But seriously I'd take whatever I can get and what ever people want to contribute. Not sure about the language issues though... Chris
  23. Must agree with Willy I have both these and *****ar g but prefer my bits everytime. I guess I just like 'proper' steering better. And with 2.6 or 3.0 motors the Bits are just as quick. Local guy sells lights for Bit's and extra capacity batteries too...
