  1. Hey no disrespect taken All feedback is always welcome. I completely understand where you are coming from BTW and don't disagree in that ideally I like to see lots of update by lots of users and at the same time I don't care who posts them I just like to see new models, for me its the picture that makes me decide if to look or not, not the builder - but thats personal preference Now I've been able to test it for a while now I'm able to see how people are using it compared to the way they used it before. The bottom line is the new system produces nearly 40% more click throughs than the old system and that is shared more evenly across posted models. Thats means on average more models are being looked at, which leads to more likes, favourites and comments for those posting. Thats data not personal opinion and there is no denying thats a generally positive result. The trade-off is occasionally models will drop off the page quicker than the poster would have liked - i understand that. Previous approach had its own 'unfairness' in that one model could be on the home page for 2 weeks, at the same time I could post two great models but because they were grouped one might only be on the homes page for 1 minute. The red indicator was my first attempt to fix that but its just not used in any meaningful numbers. All that said I've just about got a refined test ready to go, which will look at what is has been posted over a time frame and then automatically switch between the old and new way when required. ie if some has more than three items in one go it will group them, so lets see how that goes. Im not really a fan of personalisation options, I've built in lots of these before but ultimately very few ever got used and then are just a pain in the code that I have to maintain going forward, so I'd rather not add more if possible. Please bear with me, we'll get something that feels better soon. Cheers Chris
  2. As re-bugged said there is a cap for everyone on the size total size of images you can upload to forum software. you can get around this limit by hosting your images elsewhere and linking to them. For subscribers I provide that 'elsewhere' in the form of tcphotos.net which I can set up for Subscribers upon request. Its a completely separate site so I have to do everything manually rather than it just being automatic when subscribing - and yes thinking about it that option is not made clear enough to new subscribers which I'll correct. I'll set you up an account there shortly and send you the details Cheers Chris
  3. When you say upload content to the site do you mean your showroom or the forum? It’s different for each
  4. ha! You forgot optional uploadable decals, so you can drop them on and position. Based on this one taking 18year to produce then I'll get at least one of those features done by 2038.
  5. Made it a bit easier to share your designs now https://www.tamiyaclub.com/wildwillyhelmet.asp?tb=00b4fb&mb=ffac00&bb=00b4e9&sk=ffa48d&ey=0089e7 Heres my Le Mans Gulf version
  6. Im afraid it doesn't look like any one has donated to you yet @bugged - last gift was from Nobbi1977 ---> ChrisRx718 - S: 4/12/2020. Who/when do you think someone gifted you a subscription?
  7. there are still subscribers out there with free subscriptions to give away. Best place to ask is here on our facebook page Chris
  8. you may need to log out and back in again. If there is a problem just post a link to your profile page and I'll take a look
  9. Fixed this for everyone now - left some code in before that meant only I could see it. Ooops. https://www.tamiyaclub.com/wildwillyhelmet.asp?rt=f
  10. For no particular reason I had this idea bouncing around in my head for ages, so today I decided to build it. Ultimately I think its pretty pointless in its current state but it might lead to better things and possible body paint jobs? No promises Ever wanted to 'try out' Willy helmets? This might keep you entertained for a few mins https://www.tamiyaclub.com/wildwillyhelmet.asp?rt=f
  11. Because of the shop set-up I'm limitee to 10 designs at a time, so new ones will come along and old ones will drop off. Im avoiding reproducing any of my old designs - want those to remain 'special' to those that bought them at the time Chris
  12. Thanks - let me know when it turns up and what you think. Cheers Chris
  13. OK I've pilotted them on the tc facebook page for a couple of weeks so some of you may have seen them already (apart from the one I've added today ) but if you are interested in buying a bit of TC merch then go take a look at them here https://www.tamiyaclub.com/tshirts.asp I make about £1.18 from each one if you are interested, the rest goes to the printers and I've sold 3 in a month, so I'm not going to be retiring anytime soon. Please note - dispatch and delivery times are taking a bit longer than you would normally expect. here are a few
  14. @mtbkym01 if you could test that would be great thanks
  15. @mtbkym01 Good to know there is at least something out there! Looks like it out of stock everywhere though Ideally looking for something from modelsport, fusion or tamico if poss. Or even Amazon Or I could just get one of these https://tamico.de/navi.php?a=203404&lang=eng Cheers Chris
  16. Its quite old and not the same as the Spektrum DX3.0 (the ".0" makes all the difference) http://www.rcuniverse.com/articles/review/spektrum-dx3-dsm/ This is the one I have and I just made the receiver smoke some how. Any recommendations on any new cheap and cheerful RX I can get that would be compatible? Cheers Chris
  17. I’m a strong believer is people taking charge with stuff like this at least taking it as far as they can. Works much better when someone who is close to it is pushing it and rallying the troops. (Otherwise I’d be swamped in people suggesting things that I do all the set up on only to find they then are not used )
  18. Mmmm zip files are problematic from a security/safety point of view (As basically people could stick anything in them) so might need to start off with just the STL files and some covering description. Perhaps, before I go coding it all etc, you could set something up in the forum to see how many people would have things that they are happy to share for free?
  19. I really like the idea people sharing 3D models to be printed out. What are the standard file formats that would be required?
  20. Good theory (but the actual chances of winning actually relate to your proximity to 5g masts) I've never entered as I thought it would be boring me winning every time
  21. Always tried to make these competition not about the quality of the model or the camera being used. I like to think people vote for the ones that capture the spirit of the theme, that can still be demonstrating modelling skills, but it can easily be someone doing something fun, or something that makes people nostalgic, or just something really clever or outside the box (or maybe made of boxes )
  22. Just checked the madforce and it looks like it doesn’t take alternative starters, the pull start is just a plastic cover that attaches direct to the engine case. that said i just amazed myself by recoiling the spring and string and getting it reattached! Not sure it will last, will give it a go tomorrow thanks for the help.
  23. thats the kind of advice I was after thanks. I've owned nitros since the Terra Crusher days, but luckily alway been around people that know what they are doing so kind of left the servicing to them My worry about by replacement parts or adapters, esp for these older models is getting one that fits. Any chance you could narrow my search down a bit and raise my confidence levels? Cheers Chris
  24. Mines broke (not through over use, more that the plastic has become brittle over the years) can some one point me at something on Modelsport or ebay that is a direct replacement. Like for like is fine but if there is an option to swap it to some sort of electric start that would be even better thanks chris
