I think I would agree. The Kure and the Calsonic are a bit plain however the Clarion, Pennzoil etc make up for it. The JOMO (Non Tamiya) version is a looker though. I think after the Zexel version I may look to do the blue Clarion sister car.

So a small update. Fitted the oversize heatsink head, lightweight flywheel and the starter rope holder to the FS-15LT. Also mounted the TM-3 muffler and the air filter. Decided to fit a 2-speed transmission so when doing the flywheel i swapped the pilot shaft and fitted the two speed clutch bell. Engine now looks like this: Two speed transmission is ready. I fitted it with carbon reinforced gears that I sell on Shapeways. These gears have been tested by multiple people and work really well. Found a set of dampers that can grace the car. These came from Japan originally and had already been cleaned up. Added some white springs as I think that will work with the body colour eventually. Pulled an upgraded brake disc out of my stock to go on as well. I think its going to look nice.

Exactly this. I never have just one project on the go but I have been collecting nitro for quite some time now which helps. I guess when you have done as many as me now you have a fairly good stock of parts.
  4. Thanks. Looks like @netsmithUK is aware of the issue and possibly linked to some recent changes.

So a very quick update on the Zexel project. Stripped the chassis down into its component parts: Metal parts Plastic parts Electrics Then I went through my parts stash to pick out the missing bits I need, metal parts Plastic parts Bumper coming from Japan as it was cheap and had a Urethane fitted. Its also the correct road bumper not the more common and later rally bumper for the TGX. A new chassis plate and the engine. It will have a restored FS-15LT, Oversize heatsink head, Lightweight flywheel, starter rope holder and a TM-3 Muffler. Nothing too bling but just nice upgrades. Lastly, a rear urethane that was designed and made by a member of the TGX Facebook group. Progress. Next step will be batches through the Ultrasonic and checking the parts over afterwards.

Thanks. I never really left but I was travelling back and fore to the USA from the UK every two weeks for 6 months and my home time was spent with family. Collection and collecting still bubbles along in the background as it has done for many many years now. Actively trying to put more effort into moderating now I have the time and generally helping out here as well as the 6 or 7 facebook groups I moderate/own. Still love the hobby and dont tell anyone but actually just got a new electric kit!
  7. Hi Chris, Yes, I got the warning as well. edit: and got it posting this reply.

Most of the group here know that I am predominantly a nitro collector. My collection bounces around the 250-260 kits at any one time and I have a fairly high turnover of kits that come through my hands. I like to restore, build and sell on a lot of Tamiya nitro kits that are down on their luck. My nitro collection has around 34 1/8 Tamiya TGX in it. Having exhausted all the known Tamiya and aftermarket bodies I am always looking for other opportunities. I have the rare bodies from companies like ABC Hobby in my collection and I have aftermarket bodies from companies like L&L models that fit the TGX chassis. I also have had a go at taking a Tamiya body and replicating a different livery. In this case a Jagermeister 155 with a custom designed decal set and 3D printed wheels So, whats next? Looking through my spare TGX parts I happened upon a clear Skyline body and decided on Project Zexel. Its based on the 1997 Zexel Skyline that competed in the JGTC and this is the car I plan to replicate and document here. and for a slightly better idea of the livery a model one found on the internet Not a hugely complicated decal set to create but you dont see many white base colour Skylines in 1/8 TGX form. So my starting position is this: A used 1/8 TGX chassis from my chassis stock that needs a full restoration, a Calsonic Skyline body that's unpainted, a used wing from the Kure Nismo TGX kit and lastly a damaged Kure Nismo decal set that will provide a lot of the basic decals like window frames etc. Wish me luck and more to come soon. This one will be a keeper for the collection.
  9. HI both, I will check in with Chris. There are a few reasons why the Cloudfare verification box appears. I have just posted a thread in the build section and got the same verification.
  10. Hiya, Possibly a few reasons for this error but sadly nothing definitive. Sometimes due to pixel size of the image is bigger than 2000 pixels Sometimes its a temporary error on the server Sometimes a small change to the file then allows the upload. Try the following: Make sure the file name is short with no spurious characters. Try adding the post/reply and then editing the post and adding the picture. See if it makes a difference. Try changing the file slightly (Crop or size etc) and then try again. let me know if any of the above works. Oh and checked your account all looks to be ok.
  11. Interesting, I will keep that in mind in the future. I have messaged Chris so I will update him
  12. Hi, I just tried on that entry and also got an error. Nothing obvious on the account so I have messaged Chris directly to have a look. bear with us and sorry for the error.
  13. Hi, uploaded a test model into your showroom. Loaded with no issues my end. Please try again and let me know. Possibly worth trying to log out and then back in again first.
  14. Hi Joe, I will have a quick look to see if there is anything obvious. If not I will try and upload a model and see what happens.
  15. Morning, afternoon and evening all, Another two members removed this morning (UK time) after some suspicious message activity. Once again, please remember to be very careful about dealing with people you dont know. Be especially careful of a new method of trying to scam where one account refers you to someone else saying that the someone else has what you need. Report everything suspicious!!
  16. LOL, I will let the interested parties decide that but from my point of view Thanks.
  17. Thanks, appreciate the photo. Its a real menace at the moment.
  18. Yep, thats also happened with me selling an item in the UK to ship via GSP that they couldnt ship overseas. The benefit is more that if I were to ship a large RC car I pay internal UK prices to get it to the GSP hub. If I were to ship it to Australia I would pay more and probably lose the protection for things like damage and missing items. When items have been damaged or lost when using GSP they have instantly refunded.
  19. Hi Will, As you will probably understand our members will be nervous about your first post being one to sell a high end vintage Tamiya. We are experiencing a steady rate of scammers at the moment. Can you post a picture of the Audi with my Username on a piece of paper next to it please? I am sure you will understand why as a genuine seller.... Thanks
  20. And its prices through GSP are ridiculous. I use it because it actually benefits me as a seller (internal UK prices to ship large items) however i know the postage price turns people off.
  21. Agree with the above. My number one tip is be honest with what is wrong, broken, scratched or marked. If its not Mint dont call it so. If listing in For Parts or Not Working always reiterate that all is presumed faulty. Ebay shipping is good value if you purchase and label yourself.
  22. Thanks @Mokei Kagaku all added and the few at the bottom edited. Just need to add M08R, CC-02S and M-02S chassis types and then edit those cars.
  23. So about a year after my last post i was moving Rusty about and realised I had never finishes the thread! Shame on me. Rusty had the new steering arms fitted, the manifold spring and silicone exhaust coupler. I added a new battery box and a modern 2.4ghz RX. The original wheels had the tyre remains removed and then had nice new tyres fitted. The wheels actually cleaned up nicely but took some time. The Champagne Gold body from Japan had a light clean but was very good. Rusty has over the year been run a few times and after some steup appears to be fine. Today, Rusty looks like this. Thats Rusty done...onto the next one.
