Roby's Old Tamiya BBS... gone?
robysoldtamiya replied to WillyChang's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
It is lost [] I think they deleted it because of no use. Roby -
Hi, you can put all 540 type motors on the market in your Hilux, just pay attention that pinion is a press fitted one. 550 and 600 are good too. Roby

Twin motored chassis mad idea...
robysoldtamiya replied to Gates Mini Racing's topic in General discussions
I made a twin motor bigfoot years ago using both ta02 ff01 motor ends. Also used Manta Ray arms and it was ready just with some few mods for body mounts. It was fun, but on every jump it landed with nose due to so much weight of the front monted motor. Roby -
I agree with Theo, don't thrash these little gems. Anyway if you need stronger spares here's Dave Engle site, http://www.angelfire.com/super2/rcwebpage/pics.html I've bought front axales, spur gear, hub shafts fron him and they are great! Roby

TXT has modified 6mm shafts with a hole throught them, T-MAXX shafts are a direct replacement, but you need to file one of them because it hurts against transmission. Inredible but true, don't really understand why Tamiya modified her shafts this way to fit T-maxx. Roby

Bruiser Tranny Help Wanted....
robysoldtamiya replied to Tamiyamandan's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Hello, there could be a lot of reason the tranny is not working, the sipliest is some springs in wrong position. Check the building process with the exploded view in my site Roby -
TXT-1 steering servo direction problem
robysoldtamiya replied to nickseab's topic in General discussions
No, you need to use reverse switch only if servo turns in wrong direction, example: on the radio you turn right but the car turn left. you want go forward but the car goes back. this is the funcion ov reverse switches Roby -
TXT-1 steering servo direction problem
robysoldtamiya replied to nickseab's topic in General discussions
You don't have to worry about that. Servo reverse switch are made just for that! If a servo is turning in the opposite direction, just move the switch and your done ! Roby ...mmmm after reading your post again: reverse doesn't mean upside-down it means reverse rotation of output gear -
Clod is great because of his low center of gravity. Jugg/Txt is great because of his look and because you have tons of aftermarket parts to make him looks great BUT when you dive it you have to know he lift a tire under acceleration. Roby

My thoughts about TLT and 1/14 Trucks
robysoldtamiya replied to robysoldtamiya's topic in General discussions
Ok, thank a lot ! That's about 2cm wider per side vs truck axale. Roby -
Ok since nobody told me what is width on a TLT axale I tell you what I think of it: since I know Tamiya is well know to reuse parts from other kits, I 'FEEL' that TLT axales are a modified version of 1/14 semi trucks. If this is true it is a very nice thing, since we will be able to use them up front to have a full 4x4 or 6x6 truck ! so please, I ask you guy that already bought a TLT to put here axale width from hex to hex. THANK ! Roby

Very funny ! Roby http://www.miro.no/mixed/1982_Toyota_Camry_RC.wmv

Can someone of you give me a measure of an axale ? I need width from wheel hex to hex. thank Roby

Hi Jakes, I think Manuspain did a great job without shortening the chassis. He went for a 3-link setup, I love the way it looks ! I'm planning on doing the same for a runner. check his showroom Roby -
Please check pics below and email me for details if you find something interesting.
