Am not sure on that, especially on the 27T version, as why would they otherwise unlike a stock 540 have a recommended direction,, higher speed in that and red/black wires? Dee, would better get a motor with zero or adjustable timing before running it reverse, not only speed will be lower, but also efficiency and there might be high brush sparking and wear, anyway ST isn't really anything special. Its a free world, they are doing nothing illegal, anyone can chose what suits him best. Personally my LHSes here, neither have good stock, prices, service or knowledge, so I don't use them anymore, my online sources are in ALL factors better, will never miss those shops again. Btw, an agressive and impolite attitude is another factor that keeps me away from some shops. Cheers

I think the chassis though is a limited chrome version from Tamiya, bought one to add on my Mud Blaster which has already some chrome CCP chassis and body parts. Have heard that most chrome colours are touch sensitive and if you clear coat them to protect them, they loose most of their shine. A less mirror-like but more durable and easy to use choice is Tamiya's anodized alu lexan paint which works well both on lexan and plastic parts, used it both on this body and wheels: Cheers

Must agree there too, my F350 hasn't had any problems or wear at all till now (XC always suffers at gearbox), I am especially doing no servicing on it all (just few cleaning sometime) to do a long term durability test, will post results if any problems occur (fingers crossed) Cheers

Also 4+ channel receivers usually don't have BEC. Btw, most BECs are designed for 7.2V, so you might fry them or your receiver/servos if you put 8.4V to them. 8.4V was making sense only in the 80s when battery capacities where limited to 1200mAh, now its much better to use a hotter motor instead, that's why 8.4V for RC cars died very quickly. Any normal sized servo except some Hitec ones should fit, since Tamiya gives different adapters for all other brands. Also you could get the hi-torque servo saver # 51000 which will improve also steering response. Cheers

Either your servo saver spline skips teeth due to wear, too short screw or the wrong type being used or the servo saver spring gets partially out, would have a look first if the spline is the correct one for your servo (do you use a Hitec servo btw?), if the spline on the saver or servo is worn and if the servo saver screw really hold its tight on the servo. Actually all the Hornet chassis based cars are very strong and also due to their light weight the impact forces are moderate, so these breakings you show should be very rare exceptions or due to fatigued material and shouldn't occur, usually a Hornet would last much more abuse and jumps then most modern cars with independant suspension due to their higher weight and stiffer but less elastic plastics. Well, Hornet is the most sold RC car from Tamiya (and propably of all brands), with 700.000 units and most of them were people's first car (as its not a high performance race kit) and its very robust, so you cant really go wrong with it. A modern alternative for it would be Dester Gator/Sand Viper which handle better but are not as indestructible. Cheers

But you own just XCs, am sure some just F350 owners will say the opposite [], the truth is there is no clear winner. We have and drive them both very often, both are our favourite runners (look at my action pics and videos) for scale crawling/driving, wouldn't say one performs better then the other, but in some conditions one does and in some the other (for example side side slopers where F350 can more easily roll, or low traction surfaces where F350 grips better). Both are great value for money as with the F350 you get a higher spec kit with which gives more fun and work to build. Also F350 can be modded easily, actually more easily then a XC due to its also front solid axle. Personally F350 gives me more joy to drive, as changing gears is big fun, also the price difference gets less when you consider you must get another body and wheels to make the Touareg look good (being unfortunately the only XC available currently). If you dont care about looks and just want some heavy bashing the Touareg is the better choice, but if you are into scale driving and can afford it, the F350 gives bigger pleasure, also don't forget multi function unit that will come out later for the F350 which will enhance its realism even further.Cheers

PS-22 Racing Green is supposed to be British racing green as Britain had the green colour when race cars were painted in the colours of thier countries (Germany silver, Italy red, French blue, Japan white/red, etc.), thats why also the colours Italian red and French blue exist from Tamiya. Cheers
