  1. I thought the R25 was FWD? [] (just kidding, I know you reffer to the F1) Making a 4WD chassis 2WD usually makes it bad handling as they have different mass distribution and suspension setup, so might be better to use a RWD chassis like F103 if you plan to drive it. Cheers
  2. There was some nice older threads like with the title "to build or not to build" but unfortunately the new forum search still isn't working correctly (search term "title: "to build"" does give topics with titles completely different from that so I cant find them [:'(] Cheers
  3. Excellent work supergreg [Y], moved them all (now finger hurt from clicking LOL), if anyone sees more helpfull ones that should go there, please feel free to post link them here. Cheers
  4. Were they? I remember a non-US TC member posting the F350 release first here [] Cheers
  5. I would always preffer Tamiya paints when the suitable tones exists (italian red?), but am very Tamiya biased (due to always having great results with them, as with any Tamiya tools) Cheers
  6. From the images above I am not sure that link adjusts the camber which is pretty predefined from the upper suspension arm, but it seems it would more affect the toe-in or out which of course can also lead to assymetric tire wear. Even if it would adjust camber, I wouldn't reduce its negative value as it would reduce lateral grip, which is especially dangerous on the rear axle. Thats why I personally don't have high opinion of suspension modifications (had done such mistakes when I was 18) when they are usually made by generic little companies which have to produce suspensions for all cars and thus don't have the expertise, engineering and time for fine tuning like the OEM manufacturer has. Imho the only reasonable suspension mods are to use the complete suspensions from a sportier model version, for example M3 suspension on a 330i. Please don't let the local tuning store Joe mess with your suspension settings, Nissan engineers have put quite alot of thought behind them. Cheers
  7. Little Philippinese Tamiya workers do a badword of a job on painting and decalling, of course some very experienced can do better (as they have also more time) but those ready bodies are better then 90% of the "average Joe" build bodies I have seen. Cheers Theo
  8. Well, we will know in 2 weeks whether those rumours were true as if yes, they will be presented in the Nürnberg fair. Cheers
  9. Racing a Tamiya 1:14 rig would be like racing a caravan LOL, better get the trucks recommended above, or some lexan truck shells for 1:10 tourers, I think Carson used to make some. Cheers
  10. SR also just had a 380 motor as standard but had also the 540 motor mount included in the kit. Cheers
  11. Wide tires don't have anything to do with fading and generally with braking distance (only if they are softer, but thats a different issue), especially on a high stance vehicle wide tires can make its handling very adventurous and steering very unloyal, following pitholes and grooves. Cheers
  12. General experience in German sites and forums is that drilled discs cause usually only more problems without really better perfomance (as most low cost hopups, its not easy to improve the nowadays advanced factory-engineering with easy and cheap solutions like its was till the 80s), hope you will be more lucky with them, keep us informed how long they last and if they warp. Hope you got the best and usually the most expensive you can get, as almost nothing beats the OEM ones from companies like ATE or Brembo. Stiffer brake lines are a good modification though as they increase the precision of braking and can even improve the performance of ABS/ESP. [Y] Cheers
  13. I think both those CVAs and the GB-01 chassis only haven't been released yet. Cheers
  14. Only that USA already has one of the biggest percentages of cars per population (also due to their lowest gas prices) and thus lowering gas taxation even more wouldn't make people drive even more then they already do (where to should they drive more except to work, shopping, entertainment and friends like they already do, visit the moon?) but just decrease revenues. Btw USA luckily finally has understood their dependency on fuel and its running out and is trying to reduce now total consumption (welcoming clean cars and diesels) as otherwise they would even more depend on the middle east as they already do, not talking about the enviromental issues which since their recent floods they start also to understand. Cheers
  15. Again non logically connected arguments... [|-)] My post was entirely written as a normal poster and not a moderator, I didn't use my moderation authority at all, as if I would I could have deleted trolling posts. Just because I am a mod it doesn't subtract me from my right to post my personal opinion as everyone does, didnt write anywhere that my opinion represents TC or the other moderators. Btw if you see some responses to my post, you will see that I am not the only one that finds no logic in your argumentation. I have nothing against any opinion as well as its understandably written and logically argumented, sorry but don't see either in many of yours, just look at your sentences above, one neither having to do with the other or being making logical sense, also saying the earth is square (=fuel in USA is expensive/highly taxed! [:S]) when everyone says/knows its round (=USA has lowest gas prices in the world) reminds me just of provocation that internet trolls do. Many things are not black or white, but some are pretty clear and worldwide accepted and just using previous statements to stirr up some discussion?, doesnt lead anywhere. Better have some coffee then beer [C]
  16. No, haven't driven it, but judging from modern mini off roaders I have driven the terrains that "suit" it are very limited. Got mine for BIN around $100 but have never seen a normal auction on them. Cheers
  17. PS and TS paints hake no compatibility problems when dried, I would recommend using the same PS paint for the wing and then just clear coat it with TS clear, this way you always have the same exact tone, this is how I did it also on my orange one Cheers
  18. I have it NIB but from its looks it seems a sweet simple little car, you must consider though its age and small scale which don't give reserves for high performance. Cheers
  19. Nürnberg fair is the biggest toy fair in the world and between 1st and 6th of February, Tamiya will celebrate there their 30 years of RC and 40 years of participation to that fair! and supposed to present some new RC and static kits there! [H] Cheers
  20. Does any part of this brabbling above have any connection with each other, or logic and argumentation against that USA has one of the lowest petrol prices in the world? I better give up discussing with you, as most of your posts give me the impression of trolls or too much of your signature symbol ... Jeez...
  21. **** it, my monopoly will be soon gone [] (just kidding of course) Cheers
  22. Gasoline taxed to the hill in USA??? ROLF, best joke I have heard for a while [], thats why they have the biggest cars and SUVs in the world, you should come to Europe to see some serious taxation [] Cheers
  23. Love it, looks almost real! [H] Cheers
  24. I agree that the RTR aspect of modern RC cars is a from educational point of view very bad, but don't agree that the lack of realism is one too. Youngsters still see it as a car and suspension or setup of a modern, ugly and generic looking tourer or buggy has much more to teach and in common with a real car then the "realistic" first Tamiya cars with their pan chassis. Also talking generally a good teaching object should be generic/generalising in its look so it can metally be combined with more real life appilcations, if you see Tamiya's educational series they also don't have much optical realism. Cheers
