However, the seller had lots of recent eBay activity and a perfect feedback rating, so I reasoned that sending a money order would be OK. I guess every transaction has its risks.
  2. I recently learned something about UPSid="Arial"> shipping that I previously was not aware of. Say you purchase something (in my case, from eBay) and pay the seller for the items, plus shipping and insurance. The seller packages the items and takes it to a UPSid="Arial"> approved parcel center for shipping (not a UPSid="Arial"> counter, but a store that ships UPSid="Arial">, FedEx, USid="Arial"> Postal Service, etc). The seller takes your money and pays the parcel center for shipping and insurance. You receive the item and it's damaged. You as the receiver (and the person who paid for the shipping and insurance) cannot file a claim with UPSid="Arial">. UPSid="Arial"> will not help you one bit until the "Shipper of Record" files a claim. In my case, the shipper of record (according to UPSid="Arial"> insurance policy fine print) is not the seller but the parcel center. I have contacted the parcel center (about 2500 miles away) and spoken to the store owner; he refused to discuss the claim with me or give me any information, claiming "shipper-client" privledge. All I found out is he won't file the claim until the seller provides an invoice showing my purchase price. My seller no longer answers his cell phone (undoubtedly he has caller ID) and doesn't return messages, so obviously he is not going to provide the needed proof of purchase. UPSid="Arial"> customer service won't help me either, except to confirm that everything is in the shipper of record's hands. I am really P-Oed over this situation, I have absolutly no recourse at this point even though I paid all the money for shipping and insurance. Also found out from UPSid="Arial"> that they will only pay on a claim the amount that was paid for an item, ie, you can't include the shipping cost ($125 in my case) in the insured amount. So in any claim you're out the shipping cost, even if they damage the items in shipping? I don't know if FedEx, DHL, USPSid="Arial"> have similar insurance policies, but the buyer is over a barrel when it comes to insurance claims and the seller does not cooperate, unless you want to take legal action. 3. Looking for a set for a Mini Cooper. They must be the long posts with built-in offset. They not only came in the Mini Cooper kits, but several other kits where they were not used, both M01 and M02. Thanks, Wayne
  4. The Toyota Corolla WRC and Peugeot 206 RS were also short chassis; I have seen the Corolla shells on ebay recently but I don't believe the Peugeot was ever released as a separate body set.
  5. The Taisan Starcard Porsche 911 GT2 (TA02) and PIAA Porsche 911 (TA03) have been going from $300 to $500, depending on condition of the box, shrinkwrapped vs non-shrinkwrapped, etc. I don't know what a quote:NIB Porsche 911 TA01id="blue">id="quote">id="quote"> is; there wasn't a TA01 version.
  6. I think you emailed me about the set I had on eBay a couple of weeks ago. They sold for $56+ US, 4 wheels, NIB, so $100 seems a bit too high, even with overseas shipping.
  7. Looking for a NIB Prerunner, or at least a NIB body set.
  8. Martin, I tried to call this guy several times with no answer. I suspect he is screening calls based on caller ID? At least you did get some response from him, however lame.
  9. I live about 10 miles from Tacoma, but I don't know what I could do from this end. If you want to email me the name and phone number, I will try to ring him up and see what he has to say.
  10. It's my tamiyaclub name you see, @hotmail.com
  11. I have one that has been a display-only body http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=307&sid=19 email me if you're interested.
  12. Report out today says quote:Nearly one out of three Internet users was unable to tell the difference between fraudulent e-mails designed to steal their identities and legitimate corporate e-mail, a new study finds. id="quote">id="quote">id="blue">http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5519990/ Some of these fraudulent or "phishing" emails even fool the experts. You can go to the MailFrontier website and take the Phishing IQ Test to see if you can spot the legitimate and fraudulent emails. Pretty interesting; I thought I couldn't be fooled but only got 9 out of 10 right. http://www.n15th.com/cgi-bin/MailFrontier/...rphishingiqtest
  13. Exactly right. The settlement fund is $9.5 million, with over $3.3 million going off the top to the attorneys. So if you estimate that several million people signed up with PayPal during that time period, you will only get a dollar or two.
  14. Why is the guy Not a registered userid="blue">? That was a short-lived membership.
