WHen I first got my FX10, I was 6.. stopped driving it at around 8 because it threw a dogbone and I couldnt find a replacement. Just got a new fx10 off of ebay about a month ago. I really know very little about these cars because I was 6 when I had one. Got a few questions... Tires: Are all of the Tamiya buggy tires the same? do the rims and tires match for the grasshopper/hornet/fox/frog/striker? Suspension: Can't find any rear shocks for the striker/fx10, so do the shocks from the other tamiya cars fit? Motors: My motor is stock. What speed would that be? 280? Can the gears on a striker/fx10 handle a 540? If I can think of anything else, I'll add to this thread...

I have an FX10.. came with a clear top (plastic, flimsy kind) that has been painted white... i want to remove the paint, my question is, will a paint remover or turpentine hard the plastic? didnt know if it would melt it or anything.

This may seem a stupid question, but,ohwell... I have a battery i bought from radio shack. It is a 7.2v 2000mah battery. I can run my fx10 for about 20-30 minutes on this before it dies. what is the 2000 part of it? is that the capicity? does this mean that the 3200s i see will run longer?

I'm looking for a clear body for my FX10. I've seen stock ones around on EBAY, but the stock one comes white. I want a clear one so i can paint it Little E style. Already have the decals.

I was just curious about this. Has anyone ever done some real custom work on their old car? I mean like building a custom part, adding a part from a different type of car (like if your cars part wasnt available), or something of that nature?

FX10 Front Suspension Installation on Striker
locoguano replied to tarznatz's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
I have an FX10 and to be honest, I really dont see how that part would fit on my car either... maybe it was mislabeled or something. -
I have a Futaba FX10. I have come across several sites that say the Tamiya Striker is pretty much the same car. I have come across other sites that describe the Striker as having a Falcon rearend and a Grasshopper/Hornet frontend. My question is are the parts from these cars interchangable? Because Falcon, Hornet and Grasshopper parts are much easier to come by than Striker/FX10 parts, and I need some parts. Plus this would give me some reference on what cars so that I can have interchangable parts.
